Dropsy just needs a hug dammit

Some days, you just need a hug. And I get that man. Because we’re all human beings, and just that feeling of a warm embrace can help save your day. And then you get clowns. Clowns are to people what rabies is to dogs.

An unrelenting force of pure evil in greasepaint, which should be set on fire when given the chance. So you can imagine how ridiculously unsettling it must be to play a game where you’re not only the spawn of Cthulu nightmare fuel, but you’re seeking a hug as well.

And that game is called Dropsy. It looks about as charming as Disney animation if it were helmed by Ted Bundy, as players have to glomp their way through several levels as the titular clown. Here’s the official trailer and synopsis:

After a deadly circus fire shatters his world and tarnishes his name, Dropsy the Clown finds himself on a journey of self-discovery through a story that harnesses powerful themes of love and kindness.

With his father gravely ill and the world turning its back on a once happy-go-lucky clown, Dropsy will need to help those in need, hug total strangers, and unravel dark and shameful secrets from his past on the way to redemption. Oh, and Dropsy can also talk to animals.

Dropsy is a non-traditional take on the classic point and click adventure formula starring the game’s perpetually carefree namesake clown as he explores a richly detailed world full of colorful characters and sinister secrets, doling out hugs along the way.

Rather than lead players on a singular narrative path, players are free to choose which avenues of adventure they want to explore in an open world setting and can piece the puzzles and story together however they choose.

Guys…I’ve seen stuff. I live in PE, where asking for directions is usually done by summoning the unholy spirit of Bles Bridges. But Dropsy: A Point And Click Hugventure terrifies me in the same way that Gareth Cliff frightens SA idols hopefuls down here.

Maybe it’s due to me watching It way too many times, or the fact that I was run over by a clown car once. But this might be the perfect game to help me conquer that fear once and for all. It’s also giving me an idea to make a Mr Blobby video game, because children can go get into f***ing sea…

I wouldn’t if I were you. Courts will find she had reason to abscond with the guy.

A dad may. A daughter can also get a restraining order.

“With his father gravely ill and the world turning its back on a once happy-go-lucky clown…” My word! That is so depressing! Does the special edition ship with a hundred adco-dol headache tabs so you can swallow the lot and kill yourself due to the cruelty of this world?
