More Wii 2 rumours!

Nintendo’s last console, The Wii, started out its life as “Revolution” – an apt moniker as it ushered in a generation of motion-controlled gaming. Their successor is currently known, for some reason, as Project Cafe with its final retail name rumoured to be – amongst other things – Stream. New rumours suggest the console will be called Nintendo Feel. Sounds a bit silly, but there’s a reason for the madness.

According to Ripten, the new console’s rumoured controller-embedded touch-screen surfaces will offer haptic feedback, what that means is that the controller’s screens will magically be able to feel like different surfaces.  Slide your finger across some rocky looking terrain and it’ll feel all grainy and resistive; do the same with a marshmallowy surface and it’ll feel softer. I can’t help but feel that if this is true, Nintendo could once again really revolutionise the interactive adult entertainment industry.

The other rumour is that the curiously absent and seemingly pointless vitality sensor will be headed for Nintendo’s next console, instead of the Wii.

I don’t know about you, but to me all the rumours are starting to sound like works of fiction. If all of the rumours are true, not only is this new console going to be wildly expensive, it’ll need to be powered by nuclear fusion. I can’t imagine a controller with a 6” haptic touch screen to last too long without needing a charge of at least 1.21 Gigawatts every few minutes. Nintendo Feel? More like the Nintendo kos te veel.
