Tips and Tricks for Dragon Age: Inquisition

DAI enemy

Dragon Age: Inquisition has a whole bunch of new elements for combat this time around. There’s the tactical camera, as well as some fun abilities for the various classes. Bioware knew these might take a bit of getting used to, so they made these videos to help you out.

First up is their new video explaining the Tactical Camera:

If you are sans YouTube access, you can view it over here. The second video they released was this one, showing off the skills and abilities from a range of classes, explaining some core techniques.

And for the non-Youtubers among you, the video is also here.

Of course the various roles have their own unique tactics and skills. I really like the way the video explains some cool ways to link a series of skills together to deal maximum damage. Plus, it’s nice to see how the various types of rogues or mages would make use of the different kinds of abilities that they would possess. It makes each class more varied, allowing for even more individual styles of play.

The game is launching this week, and I’ve heard from our friends at retail that the stellar early reviews have really boosted their pre-orders. I am certainly excited to play it, and I’m curious to see just how much I end up using the tactical camera or certain abilities. I often just fall into a default approach to combat in any game, using the same techniques to overcome all my foes. It will be cool to see Bioware pushing me past that, out of my comfort zone with some cool new enemies and skills.

I will not install or play Inquisition until after my exams end on the 1oth of December.
I would appreciate it if everyone would be so kind as to not post spoilers on non-DA:I articles.

It’s not like I’ll hunt you down and make you wish for death or anything.

You’ve got until Friday to make your Day 1 decision.
Maybe wait until after Zoe and others (gamers not reviewers) get a chance to give feedback before making your decision.

I made the mistake to watch an ingame video. About 1-2 weeks ago, Bioware invited a few youtube streamers to play it and allowed the to upload it without the story stuff. Just pure gameplay.

      After 30minutes, I closed the browser and pre-ordered from Kalahari … R499

DAFUQ? It took two days to download the REAL mass effect ending let alone a 30gig game that should be on Blu-Ray and not a DVD 9. 😛

Still don’t know if I will get this this year or maybe next year!! I have bought less games this year than in the previous 10… And it still feels like my gaming year has been pretty full!!
Must be Destiny and Fifa that can keep me busy on their own…

I’m quite interested in this game, but is this a game that you can play if you’re totally new to the Dragon Age games? Would I need to know any back story to be able enjoy it?

obviously it would help, but i dont think its THAT necessary.
new character, new base story, you should be fine.

They have mentioned that you do not have to know about it the first two games. It is for old and new players. Although, I suggest you should at least watch some videos, it is always fun to know something about the story and there is a CRAP load of videos on youtube about the story and characters.

Grab some popcorn and enjoy it 😉

        Yet gamers still pre-order.
2014 is the year of broken promises and broken games.

2007 is STILL the best year in gaming.

Last game I pre-ordered AND was happy was Mass Effect 3. It was awesome, I loved it. Got the collectors edition and all. But other games? not so much.
