Think you’re good at Hearthstone? Prove it

Hearthstone

So my latest addiction is Blizzard’s new card game, Hearthstone, and while I’m pretty useless at it I love how Blizzard handles the rankings so I am at least given a chance while I sit in my level 19 pit of squalor.

But if you think you are actually pretty good at the game then today is your last day to register for a tournament this weekend being hosted by www.hearthbattles.co.za and www.evopoints.com .

The rules are straightforward and the cost of entry is absolutely nothing which suits my pocket. If you win you will take home a $20 Steam voucher with battle coins being given for the next two runners up.

If you haven’t played Hearthstone there is something wrong with you and while you are downloading it onto your iPad or PC you can watch this video which explains all the basics of the game and gives you some ideas on how to play.

But don’t worry if you can’t watch the videos, the tutorial in the game is very simplistic and it won’t take more than 10 minutes before you fully understand all the rules of the game and think you have it mastered.

You don’t though, the complexity and detail in the game is fantastic and while a lot of people are claiming it is simply a different version of Magic or Pokemon I disagree, the game is far easier to get into and the balancing appears to be incredibly well done for new and expert users alike.

So since the game is free and the tournament is free then you have no reason not to join the 24 registered users already. Let us know how you get on.

Oh and the best thing about all of this is that Hearthstone is a cross platform game so if you are an iPad player you don’t need to install the PC version to play against PC opponents. In fact you won’t even know what platform your opponent is on.

You don’t need skill in hearthstone, you just need a big wallet, the bigger the wallet, the bigger your win ratio.

Listen, to play competitively you will need to pay, no doubt. But to play friendly games get at least to mid- table you don’t have to spend a cent. I have only bought 4 decks because I felt like it on the day.

You get daily quests that give you cash if completed, and after 2 or so you can buy a deck. Done. All the Legendary cards I have came from decks I earned.

I was undefeated in Do gaming league.
Last week I played someone using pretty much the most basic rogue deck on the planet and he wiped the floor with me.
In a competitive card game, its knowing what to do and when to do it. Anticipating what the other player is using and deck construction.

You do not need to pay to win in this game. And even if you do, it doesnt mean you’re good, it means you have more options in deck construction.

            Well said man.
Basic Rogue Decks are killer. Same with Warrior Decks imo. Execute = most cheat card in the game.

So how does one enter the Do gaming league? Sounds like you needs some good competition 🙂
