The Order’s conspiracy trailer betrays the story

The Order 6

When The Order: 1886 was first announced, I was chomping at the bit to hear more. Combining a steam-punk-esque Victorian-Era London with a strange take on the knights of the round table, plus werewolves? Sign me up! I then played a lackluster demo and lost interest. But seeing trailers out of the final product is changing my mind.

Here is The Order: 1886 Conspiracy Trailer:

For the non-Youtubers, you can watch it here.

In the demo that I played of the game, it was all just a boring sequence of cover shooting and a bit of exploration in one tiny area. However, they never should have released that demo – it doesn’t seem to be indicative of the actual gameplay. Geoff played a more recent build back in December and raved about the various kinds of gameplay available. You can see it in the trailer, too – sneaking and stealth killing or zippiness and all the shooting. The Order will have all kinds of gameplay options, plus it looks ridiculously gorgeous.

Beyond looks and gameplay, the trailer shows just how fun the story will be. Of course there will be betrayal, and dark brooding characters. It’s no fun without a conspiracy, and it seems that The Order will have plenty of backstabbing in the story as well as the gameplay.

Has this game returned to your radar, too? Or are you just a bit too worried to start getting excited until you read what other people think of it?

Think I’ll be waiting for the reviews to drop, no more day one games for me unless it’s a System Shock 2 remaster/reboot.

Agreed. However, I’d check WHO is doing the remaster/reboot before I get that

But of course. EA still owns the property so I’d be very cautious.

I didn’t play any demos, so I’m still just as excited as I was when I first saw the game 😀

What will the game cost? Will it have multiplayer? The campaign is apparently only 10 hours long? ????

It will cost what all the other games costs… I really hope it doesn’t have multiplayer tacked on, this looks like a good single player game and I hope they leave it at that!!
If it is 10 hours of a good story game, I am down with that!! I am tired of open world games that has a story somewhere and a lot of side crap in between!! I

So basically full price for a tech demo? Hou maar verby! Think ponies should rather wait for Bloodborne, sounds much better!

For a minute I thought you showed interest in buying a PS4. Would have added you the second you came online 🙁

Neither are appealing as a day one purchase but as a bargain / sale item then why not.

Ok on my radar again. I wasn’t impressed with the demo at rAge. But the trailer looks much better. None the less I’ll still wait for reviews and public opinion before I think of buying it

Honestly, the hype never left for me. Always looked like it has a great story that I wanna know more about, so it’s always remained on my radar. Graphics, of course, look amazeballs and gameplay has seen some good vids and some lacklustre looking vids… So I’m still keen to give it the benefit of the doubt. Looking forward to seeing the finished product – less than 1 month to find out!

I am really interested in this mainly bcuz of the story which I am hoping will be good since game’s lately are all about open world and doing 100 million things story get’s forgotten examples last year: Far Cry , Shadow of Mordor Destiny and many more. Plus it looks absolutely stunning really digging the art work and feel to the game. Gameplay is nothing wow but good enough I enjoy my third person cover shooters:)
