The Evolution Of – Hitman

Way back when gaming was starting to get really big in a cinematic way, the titles on offer were all about shooting, looting and doing some more shooting. Sometimes on the loot. Stealth games weren’t exactly high up on the agenda for various developers, even after Metal Gear Solid had proven that covert espionage action could be quite profitable. And then Hitman came along, to prove that barcode tattoos on the neck were quite cool after all.

Most folks hate me when I admit it, but Hitman Absolution is my favourite game out of the franchise. And if you have a problem with that, just turn your back while I get this piano repair wire out……

  1. I got ablution along with the rest on Humble Bundle. Still to play a few of them actually. (and yes, that was intentional)

One moment that still sticks with me is when Padre gives 47 a necklace and 47 realizes he will never find the peace he wants and must stay an assasin for the rest of his life…So much for those tomatoes hey 47

I must say though, your editing skills are really good, everything transitions really well in tune to the music

Absolution is my favourite too. The level challenges & unique assassinations were a lot of fun to complete – DAT STRIPPER CAKE ASSASSINATION! Made me feel like a boss.

The people who whined about it being an actiony pew pew Hitman should maybe stop playing it that way – it’s like punching yourself in the eye & then complaining that you punched yourself in the eye. Stealth worked perfectly well if you actually bothered to use it.

I still prefer Blood Money over Absolution. Mainly because the disguise system in Absolution suffered from a mild case of stupidity 😛

Hitman 1 will always be my favorite. Maybe because it started it all. The complexity of it’s level design is to this day win. Oh the days of Voodoo 3DFX.

Agreed, Absolution was absolutely my favourite. Although through the game I missed the “old” Hitman, upon finished Absolution, I came to that conclusion.

I own all the Hitman Games, hard copy… Even though I will admit that Objectively, Blood Money was the better game, Absolution is still my favourite to play.

Blood Money was a more “core” Hitman game. The best of them. Absolution was different, and I kinda liked it for being different

I actually played Blood Money and Contracts with minimal shots fired. I liked those up close and personal as well as the “accidents”

Hitman Absolution took away a lot of features that made the Hitman Series great, such as large free roam levels, manual saves, countless ways to take out your targets, and weapon upgrades.(if you played Blood Money)Hitman Absolution is not how any future Hitman games should be it does not do the series any justice.
