Storm the Bastille with Assassin’s Creed Unity

Viva la France! Liberty, Fraternity, Equality. Ah, the French Revolution – one of the most iconic events in history. Even those who haven’t studied that period are probably aware of the storming of the Bastille. Well, it seems prison life was integrated in Assassin’s Creed Unity as well.

It appears that some people won access to some exclusive in-game cinematics featuring Arno’s training and general prison life:

It’s good to see Assassin’s Creed Unity continuing the time honoured tradition of showing prison as a place to hone your skills. Instead of doing weight lifting, Arno learns how to sword fight. While it isn’t specified that this is the Bastille, considering that he’s in a prison that appears to be getting stormed by a mob of people, I think it’s fairly safe to assume as much.

At least this game explains how Arno got some of his skills, unlike the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag approach. Assassin’s Creed Unity certainly looks gorgeous, and I’m glad to see it’s well thought through.

Which iconic moments in the French Revolution are you hoping to see? I really do enjoy the way that Assassin’s Creed brings historical periods to life. Sure, there is the whole Templar versus Assassin thing, but the core historical elements are extremely well researched and presented. I love the attention to detail that Ubisoft brings to the table.

Is Unity going to be your Assassin’s Creed game this year, or will you be opting for Rogue? Unity certainly looks like the more innovative game; I just hope that Arno’s character is interesting enough to keep us all enthralled.

Interestingly enough when a friend from the US told people she knew she was going to South Africa to study she was asked where in Mexico that was.

Dude, I once got asked by a US gamer if it was true that we have lions and elephants roaming the streets with the cars… I sh%t you not! I told them we sure do – I can see a lot of them from the window of my treehouse… And yes, they fell for that…

I have cousins who moved to Canada and they will show people pictures of lions from the Lion Park and say that the lions are my grandmother’s pets that live in her backyard.
            Isn’t that our national joke?

The worst for me was, met a US girl here(did not know at that time).
When I asked her if she speaks English.
Her reply was: No I speak American.

          I kid you not.
Was still a fun evening speaking American 😉
