Shadow of Mordor wraith trailer is terrifying

SoM wraith

Shadow of Mordor keeps being accused of all sorts of things – oh, it’s just an Assassin’s Creed clone with some Batman elements. I already told you why I’m excited for this game and think it’s awesome, but a new trailer is showing yet another reason that this game is different.

Here is the trailer showing off some of the wraith abilities:

For those who don’t watch videos, it’s because of the wraith that players are able to brand enemies, bending them under Talian’s will. The wraith also gives us the ability to strike fear in our foes, making them flee in terror. Plus, the powers are beneficial in combat.

Man, Celebrimbor wasn’t just an awesome smith from the Second Age, he seems to have acquired a bunch of awesome extra powers in the interim. It’s good to be sorta possessed by a wraith, it seems.

Oh, and in case you didn’t notice it, we’re mentioned twice at the end for the accolades section. I still think Shadow of Mordor was my biggest surprise of E3 – I wasn’t at all excited for it, and now it’s become one of my most anticipated games of the year. Of course, it doesn’t help them that it’s coming a mere month before Dragon Age: Inquisition and a few months before The Witcher 3. I know you lot – you will forget about this game because of your established fanboyism.

Are you lot beginning to see why Shadow of Mordor looks so cool? I seriously can’t wait to brand everyone and have a horde of friendly mobs helping me in battle. I always love having pets in games, and this seems even better.

Can’t help but find correlation between how Frodo saw the Witch King when he had the ring on and how the player looks like when he uses wraith powers.

I’d rather play this than play Witcher 3

Why would people complain that it’s an AC clone with Batman elements? That’s AMAZING!

The more I see of this game, the more I get interested in it.

But you have Sandy and Martha, wow, you went through them like an EA DLC goes through Ryanza.

Is it just me, or does it look a bit sticky? (like early PS3 games)

I am still not convinced about this game. Seems to generic and not true to lotr lore.
