Milo and Kate behind the scenes: motion-capture

Back at E3 2009, Peter Molyneux announced an ambitious new project that made use of Microsoft’s Kinect controller (back when it was still called Project Natal). Molyneux’s project was Milo and Kate, a game in which players interact with a young boy. It was met with mixed responses: some people were intrigued by the game, and others took the opportunity to make paedophile jokes.

There’s been no news on the game for months now, but Lionhead is yet to officially state that the title is dead. Now, the Drama Director for Milo and Kate, John Dower, has released a behind the scenes look at how they did the motion capture for the game; his continual use of the past tense is a little depressing. New gameplay footage after the jump.

It’s uncertain as to whether or not the game is ever going to come out. Microsoft’s Phil Spencer insinuated last year that the product would probably not get a release. After that, things went quiet until Epic Games got a private viewing of Milo and Kate. The project’s future remains uncertain.
