Assassin’s Creed Unity is coming to the new systems and the PC next month – but it seems that at least one lucky player has already got his hands on the game. Here’s some leaked footage of the game running on a PlayStation 4. Naturally, with this sort of thing, it could well be considered a spoiler.

I’ve always loved Assassin’s Creed for the historical tourism that it offers. I’ll never be able to be in revolution era France, or Renaissance Italy, but thanks to the magic of videogames, I get to experience settings like those in some way. The game is running on the PlayStation 4, as it is on the Xbox One at a miserable 900p and 30fps, but I think that’s a secondary consideration. The game looks rather incredible, packed to full with stunning and intricate detail. I’m even keen to give the game’s co-operative multiplayer a bash. From what I’ve seen, working together as a stealthy group of sneaky killers is a lot of fun, and far more emergent and clever than you’d expect. The game’s also got a slightly more RPG focus on than previous games, with upgrades and different gear keeping everything exciting.
After Assassin’s Creed 3, I was ready to write the series off, but Black Flag re-instilled my faith. I sincerely hope that Unity strengthens that resolve. With Assassin’s Creed being an annual franchise now, it’s a series that people could become quite tired of if it doesn’t provide a consistently great experience.

On a totally unrelated note, and only posting this here cos it’s the most recent article; anybody interested in a redeem code for the Evolve Alpha, on Xbox One? I’d recommend that it be someone with a US Gold account, though (the Alpha isn’t available in SA).

I have mentioned it several times on this site.
For the fun aspect, I want to see it. And I want my daughter to interact with it, teach her teach and stuff. at 11 months she already swims with my when I get home from work (she loves pool, we are scared of the pool and her, so we teach her young) and I think the kinect will be a lot of fun for the two of us in years to come. Games like Zoo Tycoon are made for this sort of thing, I believe.

900p/30fps for a R7000 PS4 is just shit. If it was 900p/60fps or 1080p/30fps then It would get away with a purchase.
Otherwise I expect this quality for the PS3.
