Halo is Microsoft’s crowning franchise. The shooter that they can always look to for console sales, online dominance and great reception. We aren’t getting a new Halo until next year, but The Master Chief Collection is just around the corner: there to remind us how great the franchise has already been. It’s looking extremely good while doing it.

Case and point, the launch trailer for Halo 2: Anniversary. Surprisingly, Halo 2 is the only game in the entire franchise that I haven’t played, although I do know exactly how it ends. That doesn’t matter though, because in a few weeks I, and everyone else, will be able to get my hands on the new and improved version of the game. A version which is looking super pretty.

Am I alone in wanting a Halo movie that looks as good as this launch trailer? There’s no gameplay, but instead 343 Industries has enlisted the help of Blur Studios to create this montage of cinematics from Halo 2: Anniversary. My pants are currently tighter than one time I wore skinny, hipster chinos. So, yesterday.

I’m extremely excited to relive some of the best FPS memories I have with the Master Chief Collection next month. I just wish Halo: ODST received the make-over treatment as well. Make it so 343 Industries!

Blur Studios? As in this Blur Studios? :

because that’s cool, even though I don’t give a damn about anything HALO related.

Having played 2 many, many times, the clips were all from CG stuff i.e. none of it is actual gameplay. Saying that I doubt game looks quite that good. But it DOES NOT MATTER!

      It’s Halo…the end…at least I ain’t no fanboy 🙂

Well they almost had me there for a moment, maybe they should just let 343 be its own movie studio..

        R.I.P PIXAR…

Would’ve been epic IF Halo ACTUALLY looked like THIS. Why show a stupid CG trailer that doesnt even show what the Xbone is capable of, or how the game will look like in action?

343 did Halo 4 from scratch and many believe it is one of the best looking 360 games out there. They did a great HD update for Halo CE.

So expect the games to look great.

But at the end of the day this is to get everyone excited/marketing – and as such in-game doesn’t always do it.

Who said that it was? The whole article is about the cutscenes, and the trailer is even called “Cinematic Trailer”. 😉

Remember this… Well this was also a “cinematic trailer” and the final product.

Enough said.. No need to advertise a game by only showing cinematics. Its insulting…

I got it digitally, And on a 2MB line… 45.6 gigs is gonna take a few days probably 3-4

But hell yeah, I was planing to get the XBOX ONE which i have bought already and when I heard about this collection having missed out on it entirely due to not having a prior console (PC only) it was just the icing on the cake…

Now i will finally get to experience this story in all its glory just with the better graphics…
