Dragon Age beard

While I was sleeping, Bioware revealed some new Dragon Age: Inquisition details. Basically, it’s just a video that’s similar to a Create-A-Sim demo, but this time it’s Create An Inquisitor. Still, I might spend a bit more time that I’ll admit customizing my Qunari’s horns.

Here is the video showing off the full range of customization options.

It’s good to see that there was some sharing within EA – the customization seems a whole lot more intuitive and includes some ability to simply move ears around. Most of the options are still done with sliders, but at least they seem a bit more comprehensive. And really, as long as you can customize it to have the most epic handlebar moustache and beard, the character creation is already complete.

How in depth do you generally go with character creation? I tend to stick to a general punch of parameters – I want a certain shape of the face, a hair style that I like and green eyes. That’s basically it; I don’t spend much time adjusting the shape of the nostrils or length of the bridge of the nose. However, considering that those are in there, I’m sure some people do. In the end, I figure that I won’t see most of these things when my character is wearing a weird helmet or covered in my enemies’ blood. Besides, I don’t need to make the character look like a fantasy version of myself to feel immersed in the game. However, I know that I’m in the minority in this regard – how much time do you guys spend on character creation?

BEARDS! When I make a human male warrior, he needs a strong face with possibly a scar or two, and a BEARD! Mages and rogues I tweak a little. Rogue is human/elf and always resembles Faith from Buffy/Angel.

It feels cheap slapping a beard on your character at the start of a game. Beards should be grown.

maybe they should give still give beard options, but say they can show the completed look of the growing beard and also give time speed growth (10mins, 30mins, hour etc etc) of your beard as well OR they can just give you the option to grow your beard and select time speed growth and while it grows you can have it trimmed to a certain look in the game.

Yeah, I cut my long hair off a few years ago. Was awesome, at my wedding my hair was nearly twice as long as my wifes hair. Still got on and off beard though.

Um, why is customising a beard in a game important?

I prefer to make lady characters…. so no there.

However, when I do roll a male, I rock a big pale toon with an epic beard, so then yes, then it’s ME!

I find it kinda weird that the skin and scar textures are so high res, but the hair is really low poly and very plastic. The fact that everything else is so nice just makes it infinitely worse.

One of the best games I have ever played. Played it through 4 times, which for me is an incredible amount. It means Origins, subtle differences with each race and so forth. Very cool.

I would get and play, all DLC’s are good to play.

Just do the Nike thing with it

Dragon Age One Beard? This is one of those titles that’s on my “maybe.. will probably get it second hand” list. The rot of Dragon Age 2 and EA hang in the air. It makes the Banana a little skittish.

As someone who I respect and look up to once said to me, you will be staring at that character for several hours so you may as well make a character you can enjoy looking at.
