Break the French Revolution in new Assassin’s Creed trailer

ACU anomaly

Running around in historical periods and killing off random people has to have an effect – the time space continuum simply can’t hold all those changes forever. This new Assassin’s Creed trailer shows what happens when things go wrong.

Here is the Time Anomaly trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity:

And again for those who can’t access YouTube for whatever reason.

Over on the Ubi Blog, we get the following hint about this trailer:

All of Paris is your playground in Assassin’s Creed Unity. All of it. We can’t tell you exactly what you’re seeing in the trailer below (we want to leave you with some big surprises), but we can tell you it’s going to blow your mind. Get your first look at Unity’s time anomaly, a brand new feature in the Assassin’s Creed universe.

If you listen to the trailer, you can hear the woman say that the simulation is breaking down, and the next thing you know you’re in a weird version of modern/WWII Paris. This could certainly mean that there will be some overlap between various time periods – talk about exploring all of Paris.

This certainly adds a whole new element to the game – I’m very curious to see how they tie this in with the core game. Is this what happens when you fail a mission or go off script, or will these events just happen from time to time? How do the anomalies affect present day, or are they something to simply show alternative universes that would have occurred depending on your actions? And why did they steal the anomaly visual effect from that British show, Primeval?

Does this make you more or less excited for the game? Is this a sign of innovation, or is Ubisoft grasping at straws?

Thought the simulation in the assassins creed universe just played back what already happened, and you as the character were trying to figure out what happened in any given time period, how is it you’re able to affect the future?

Honestly? I’m looking forward to this game. I’ve always enjoyed the Assassin’s Creed games (AC1&2 are some of my favourite games of all time) and I thoroughly enjoyed Black Flag – was so much fun! Unity has, quite frankly, impressed me with what I’ve seen so far (yes there’ve been some less-than-stellar trailers, but there’ve also been some epic ones). And this new gameplay mechanic – time anomaly? Well, that just adds to it for me – I’d love to jump through time and experience the same locale at different points in history. I think this game will be shweet and I’m looking forward to playing it.

That is true… But I’m sure as the generation goes on and developers get used to the hardware, it’ll get better & better. But as long as the games are fun and entertaining, I’ll always enjoy them. 🙂

I thought the same. But I am not going to pay R800 game for a R7000 console when the PS3 and XBOX 36O can push these games with ease like BLACK FLAG and WATCHDOGS for cheaper at 720p/30fps. 900P is PRE-7TH gen.

Anyway, they knew we would go mental if FARCRY was 900p. They can do it, but saving money is more important with UBISOFT while little PROJEKT RED Is pushing for NEXT GEN visuals for THE NEXT GEN R700000000.00 Consoles.

8gigs of RAM compared to last gens 512mbs. I suppose all that RAM is for the new dashboard colours.
