Living in South Africa has many benefits but it also has that constant reminder of crime and the depths people will go for one reason or another. In a sense it has become hard to shock us as a collective but I have to say I feel a little queasy after reading this article in the Daily Mail.
It revolves around Noah Crooks, now 14, who is standing trial for the murder of his mother last year. Now a kid killing his mother is bad enough but the jury has just been played an audio recording of the 911 call that he made
I feel crazy and I know I’m not. I think I have some form of ADD,’ Crooks told the 911 operator. ‘I tried to rape her. I tried to rape her but I couldn’t do it.
‘Who tries to rape their own mom? My life is down the drain now.’
When the police arrived they found his mother riddled with bullets on the couch, her blouse had been ripped open and she was naked from the waist down.
So what made this lunatic kill and attempt to rape his own mother? Well apparently she had taken his Call of Duty away because he had received bad grades in class.
Let this be a lesson to all of us
- Raping your mother is bad… never thought I’d have to say that
- Giving your 13 year old Call of Duty is bad, it has an age restriction, dummy
- Buying your 11 year old a .22 rifle is not good parenting
- Keep a sick bag at hand when reading stories like this.
I'm cranky, arrogant and ever so amazingly annoying but when you get to know me you will also realise I'm honest and incredibly good at describing myself... now pass me that beer
