Ubisoft’s The Division delayed…again

I know, I know – which release dates are ever set in stone at this stage. Last year Ubisoft announced the expected delay of their MMO shooter, The Division, to an audience of scarcely surprised faces. The game had hardly been shown off since its first reveal, and a late 2015 launch seemed the more logical bet. A bet that you would’ve lost if you took it.

Amid all the talk of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Ubisoft has announced yet another delay to The Division. The shooter will no longer make it out in time for 2015, instead taking up a new space somewhere in Q1 of 2016. That ranges anywhere from January to March – just a few months off from when we expected it anyway.

The four Ubisoft studios currently working on the game expressed their desire to inject more polish into their title – promising more footage at E3 next month.

All of us at Massive, Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment and Ubisoft Annecy want to ensure the game not only meets our high expectations but also those of our fans and players alike. We are proud of what we have achieved so far and can’t wait to show you more next month at E3!

It’s been a long time since we’ve actually seen the game running, and a lot more development power has been brought in since then. E3 needs to be big for The Division, because right now I’m sure many have even forgotten what it actually is.

For what it’s worth though, I do hope there’s something good waiting for us.

I have to agree here. I was very excited about the game until they this came to light. Co-op would have been much better.

Yes. Absolutely. I love some co-op fun, but MMO takes so much away from a game. It just ends up feeling like a re-spawn fest.

Or a grind fest. I compare MMO games to games like Payday 2 and Just Cause 2 multiplayer. In JC2MP it is a constant respawning explosive mayhem episode. However you can group up with a select group and just move to your own area on the massive map and have fun there.

With payday 2, it’s where if the 4 players do not work together then the mission will fail. And it’s rewarding to work as a team. Which is probably one of the main reason why I play games.

Another good example is Insurgency, each class in the game plays a vital role.

Yeah, my interest also took a nose-dive after hearing it’s a “MMO shooter”. Destiny killed the genre for me (never again Activision, never again!). The only “MMO shooter” I’ll keep on playing is Warframe.

33% is all fair and nice. But even when it’s at 100% you still have to wait to be able to play it 😉

So sad that it is true 🙁

HOW can it be considered passing if you only know 1 out of every 3 things?

Hey some publishers release 1 out of 3 working games at release and they still make money.

I’m just scared that they don’t know what that is any more… I hope that the new AssCreed at least shows that they can still finish a game before they release it.

I wish there was some methodology whereby when a developer delays we can be assured of no day one patches and a relatively incident free release….

One day I may even win the lotto or, god forbid, a LG random org competition….
