Mark 45 (3)

What, you thought Avengers: Age of Ultron wouldn’t see more Iron Man merchandise released? Well you’re wrong! Dead wrong! Because not only is Tony Stark coming back with a bang to your shelf, but he’s bringing an Iron Legion with him.

First up, here’s Stark in his Mark 45 armour from the climatic endgame of Age of Ultron, ready and able to fly with the usual assortment of LED lights and crazy detail:

According to Sideshow, you can expect this figure to come bundled with:

  • Authentic and detailed likeness of Mark XLV in Avengers: Age of Ultron
  • Approximately 31 cm tall
  • Over 30 points of articulations
  • Contains diecast material
  • Special features on armor
  • Metallic red, gold and silver colored painting on armor with weathered effects
  • LED light-up eyes (white light, battery operated)
  • LED-lighted circle-shaped Arc Reactor with hexagonal-shaped indent on chest (white light, battery operated)
  • One interchangeable battle damaged chest armor
  • One (1) pair of interchangeable forearm laser weapons
  • Four (4) pairs of interchangeable palms including:
  • One (1) pair of palms with articulated fingers and light-up repulsors (white light, battery operated)
  • One (1) pair of fists
  • One (1) pair of battle palms with light-up repulsor (white light, battery operated)
  • One (1) pair of palms with real-like thrust fire effect
  • Fully deployed air flaps at back of the armor
  • Articulations on waist armor which allow flexible movement

Accessories:

The Mark 45 has a release date of Q2-Q3 in 2016. It’ll set you back $354.99. Or tree fiddy hunnard and scents. Next up, you get Iron Man Lite in the form of an Iron legion drone. It’s a nice-looking figure, that hopefully doesn’t house a genocidal AI system with daddy issues. And it’d be rad to have a small army of them, but that’d require Tony Stark levels of cash, as each drone costs around $230. For that amount of cash, you get:

  • Special Features: Finely created armored body, metallic red, white, and blue colored on armor with weathered effects and Avengers decals, interchangeable armor parts, and a specially designed figure stand
  • Authentic and detailed likeness of Iron Legion in Avengers: Age of Ultron
  • LED-lighted eyes and rectangular-shaped RT on chest (white light, battery operated)
  • Approximately 31 cm tall
  • Over 25 points of articulations
  • Special features on armor:
  • Metallic red, white and navy blue colored painting on armor with weathered effects and Avengers decals
  • Removable chest armor
  • One (1) pair of interchangeable forearm rockets
  • Two (2) pairs of interchangeable palms including:
  • One (1) pair of palms with articulated fingers and light-up repulsors (white light, battery operated)
  • One (1) pair of battle palms with light-up repulsor (white light, battery operated)

To be honest, I’d want half a dozen of these guys, just so that they could stand guard over all my other figures. And not murder them all in a show of technological superiority. I hope.

That Age of Ultron suit is so much nicer than that crappy suit he had in the second movie with the triangular power core. The Iron Legion, well, that thing’s just hot.

Did they explain how he is still able to power the suits without the arc reactor? Wasn’t it taken out of him in the third? I can’t remember much of it as its stupidity wiped most of my mind…

They didn’t explain it, but I think the core is in the suit itself now.

Yes. Arc reactor sits in the suit now, I assume.
Never thought a trilogy could be so badly ruined until I saw the 2nd and 3rd Iron Man (and the 3rd Batman).

Probably the same way War Machine works without Rhodes having an Arc reactor shoved into his chest.

The second was bad, the third they ran the script through a sewage tank before starting.
