Gentlemen, I have found the convention that I want my ashes to be spread across, in near mint on-card condition. The New York Toy Fair convention was held this weekend, granting many a cash-strapped journalist a severe case of blue testes. With enough plastic to botox the Kardashians for life, the floor was packed with plenty of action and inaction figures. Here’s a selection of some of the best stuff that was shown off.
Finally, a Transformer replica worthy of the mighty Devestator! Made up of six different Constructicon figures, Devestator headlined Hasbro’s latest range of Transformer figures. Scrapper, Scavenger, Mixmaster, Long Haul, Hook and Bonecrusher are available seperately in order to form the mighty Decepticon bruiser, but they’ll also be joined by the Protectobot combiner Defensor.
Made up of five Autobots, Defensor needs a combination of Hot Shot, Blades, Rook, Streetwise and First Aid in order to reach his full potential of breaking your wallet in multiple fragments. Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus also join the line-up of robots in Disguise.
DC Comics had a LOT of new merch to show off. Let’s get started with the moneymaker then, Batman. A new range of Batman figures based on the classic 1990s animated series are on the way, with the key difference between this range of figures being the fact that they actually boast some decent articulation. And yes, there will be a new Batmobile:
The Arkham video games are also making a splash, with new figures from the prequel game Arkham Origins debuting, as well as the upcoming Arkham Knight:
There’ll also be various other DC collectibles, such as a working Motherbox (PING PING), a plushy of the patron saint of gaming journos Dexstarr the Red Lantern and the Ankh of Death herself:
TV fans can also get their hands on merch from the successful Gotham, The Flash and Arrow TV shows:
While there’ll be other desk candy in DC’s other inaction figures:
Moving on Marvel, has a ton of new action figures on the way. Spider-Man, Avengers, Ghost Rider and all his pals will behitting your shelf soon. Check ‘em out:
And Jurassic World will also be heavy on toys. Including a worthy successor to my Hulk Hands. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you…REX HANDS!
Tons of great plastic there. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go rob a bank so that I can afford some of them.
