Maybe you’ve been telling everybody for the last year and a half that Pillars of Eternity is amazing, and it’s all fallen on deaf ears (Hi eXCheez!), maybe you’re still trying to convince everybody that Evolve is actually some of the most multiplayer fun you’ll ever have (‘Sup, Nick!)?
Me? I’ve been playing a bunch of Helldivers, telling everybody who cares to listen what a good time it is – and I see very few people on my friends list playing it. Exclusive to PlayStation platforms for now, the game takes the best bits of Warframe and Destiny, and actually makes it fun. In the bug-infested levels, it all feels like the Starship Troopers game that should have been. In her review, Zoe said:
“Helldivers is hopelessly addictive and brilliantly brutal. You will find yourself playing with a gleeful smile throughout, either thanks to crushing foes with your drop shipped turret or because of shooting your enemy with bullets full of freedom. Fast-paced and humorous with deep combat, this space romp should be required in every PS4 owner’s library.”
And damn, is that an assessment I agree with. Seriously. Get Helldivers. Play Helldivers. Be Happy. But that’s me. What games are you playing that nobody else seems to be?

Dying is a part of life. Stick close to your squad. Learn how best to utilize different classes and get familiar with the terrain. It gets easier with time.

Those are some pretty impressive stats!! But I still have the stock standard gun with the standard everything!! I will give it a good go this weekend, I could already see why it can be addictive!!

The standard weapons are quite badass.
The entry level carbine I’m still rolling with on Engineer and Light Assault. I’ve unlocked about 5 infiltrator weapons (DAT RAILJACK FTW) and one other Heavy LMG.
Also AA and AT rocket launchers, and then I’ve heavily upgraded my Reaver (the ESF)
Some scopes for the guns as well and some armour and cloak upgrades.
And all this I did by just playing, not one dorrar was spent

Well, Root A was oddly paced though, felt like a lot of nothing in the start and the story made little sense which is understandable, but the anime was very rushed when you look at the manga. I mean look at Eto, the anime doesn’t explain any of her story or even Kaneki’s journey in Aogiri. Fighting animations also seemed off. THAT said, still fucking loved it. Dat ending, man. I cried and it really hit me hard. That final episode was probably the best moment in Anime I’ve had in such a long time. That exchange between Hide and Kaneki was brilliant and the ending scene where the acoustic version of Unravel plays was so good. Overall, I REEEEEALLY enjoyed the series. Might’ve been rushed, but it was hella well done/

HAHA, yeah, it was pretty sudden and wtf. Anime was really rushed in relation to the manga, which made the ending seem all the more confusing, but the way Hide made Kaneki feel human again was just fucking brilliant in all honesty. It was one of the better endings I’ve seen in recent memory.

fighting animations are always off in modern anime, they do that whole cut frame animation, so you only see the start or the end of a movement.
drives me flipping mad.
shokugeki no soma has better fight scenes than most modern anime, and its a cooking anime.
but then again, i was super impressed by the first episode of shokugeki no soma. do yourself a favour and watch it.
also world trigger is pretty great.

seen it around, but never bothered watching it, never been a fan of mecha anime.
the only ones i liked were TTGL, break blade and aldnoah zero.
if you havent seen break blade or aldnoah zero, do yourself a favour.
break blade is cinematic genius and aldnoah zero is just plain good.

It is a lot less mecha than you would think. Aldnoah Zero was good TTGL and break blade was okay. Also I am not a major mecha fan with the exception of Tengan toppen Guren Lagan cause that was an awesom e series. 🙂

shokugeki no soma is only on episode one atm, but the manga is awesome, the ecchi in the anime is pretty heavy compared to the manga, but the art in it is the best ive seen in years.
yeah slideshow anime is starting to get old, watching diamond no ace atm, but the slideshow pitching is getting pretty annoying.
nanatsu no tanzai is the seven deadly sins right? great anime, havent read the manga though. last couple of episodes i have mixed feelings about, great fights, but meh story.

Both were good but not really the best I have seen even this year. Uso could have gone better with character development and Aldnoah went wonky after the mid season break.
I would suggest Akagame ga Kill as a better alternative to Aldnoah.

It is a School based slice of life anime with a huge twist. No real character develpment and no real plot so to speak. It is rated as one of the top 10 anime to watch this century and really is just a big bag of silly fun.

i scrapped log horizon halfway through season 2. it got the sword art online treatment, where i just all out on lame feels and cringeworthy moments.

Trying to get co-op going for months now:
GTAV, Borderlands, Helldivers, Evolve,
We tried Bloodborne co-op, it’s about the worst co-op experience I’ve had to date, a mission to get your mate into your game and the first death drops you both out and you have to start all over again, very useless.
(Seriously though, if u on PS4 playing Evolve, add me “Sageville” )

Joining is a pain. If I join Sages game and die I return to my world, if he dies, we both return to our respective world. Plus joining uses a resource called “insight” which is pretty damn rare to begin with.

Given that u die often, it’s a stupid prohibitive mechanic that adds misery and regret to the gameplay.
It woulda been fine if you could just respawn at a lamp and run back to your mate, but noooo, bloodborne needs to be stupid hard in all aspects…. hate that part of the game.

I have to admit, that screen shot put me off the game. The Japanese don’t do tutorials either. They all just seem to be wired into the matrix from the age of 3. It took me around 8 hours to figure out the flow of the mechanics. I can see why the West just do Bro Shooters.
But once it clicks it becomes more addictive than all of the boring turn based Final Fantasy games combined.
The game is Sweeeeeet.

Max Payne 3 was one of those games…. Years ago, but none of my friends, imaginary or otherwise, wanted to join… come to think of it, my friends still don’t, but mainly because they play completely different games to start off with… I’d love to do a PC GTA V challenge if anyone is keen, but I’m sure getting people to play with is about as easy as it is to let people listen to this guys’ music…

That is the Joy of Divinity. It took me around 16 hours to solve the Murder… And I didn’t mind, Cyseal and the countryside is so dense with Stories and Sidequests, At one point i had completely forgotten I was there to solve a murder case…. bliss

I didn’t realise how much I missed playing games like this. And the tactical combat is awesome, you really do have to utilise the terrain & your abilities or else you’ll get owned in no time flat – that was a rude awakening lol. I just finished up in Cyseal yesterday, that last fight against Braccus, it was fun/not fun.

Oh Hell, Braccus was a tough as Nails fight for me too. I failed like 5 times, went to do more quests/find better gear and spells. Went back, Still only barely got the victory. Thank the Gods for Resurrect Scrolls, Am I Right?

The first time I got completely owned. He nailed my entire team with that damn fireball or whatever it is he uses & practically took them out one shot.
Second time I managed to kill the squishy henchman quickly enough, but they kept stun locking my main melee & took out the mage.
Third time I positioned them outside the chamber & sent one in to start the fight then run out the room so they’d follow her & lead them into a trap, used rain to make everyone nice & wet, summoned air elementals & used plenty of lightning & chill blast to stun or freeze him while I took out the others first.
