The majority of fighting games today exist purely for… well, fighting. Though many titles possess a backstory somewhere behind those brutal brawls, very few flesh them out like the Mortal Kombat series has with its last 2 iterations. Mortal Kombat X’s tale may not have been as epic as 9’s, but it was good overall, at least, according to Darryn. The campaign in X has a host of unplayable characters - familiar faces that are sadly, absent in the selection screen. Could we be seeing them playable at a later stage via additional story DLC?
Elite: Dangerous is the little space sim that could. While Star Citizen keeps getting more and more features added, Elite was content with launching last year on PC, and quite successfully. During Microsoft’s keynote at GDC this week, it was revealed that the online space simulator would be making its console debut on Xbox One. It is not, however, a console exclusive.
There’s going to be a new Call of Duty this year because of course there’s going to be one. Activision has been steadily whipping their studios to keep their mega millions franchise alive, so it’s just a matter of time before we hear about the next instalment. That seemingly came from Microsoft yesterday – before they pulled the old one eighty again.
It’s no secret that Nintendo are not doing well in this generation but they aren’t about to go bankrupt thanks to the massive war chest that the Nintendo Wii accumulated for him.

Telltale Games: The Walking Dead returns for season two to horribly depress you on any device you may own. The picture above was tweeted by Telltale Games clearly depicting recurring character Omid and Clementine from season one. It is unknown how your actions in season one will affect his involvement with Clementine. He was missing from the teaser trailer below, released in October, but he plays a deeper role in Clementine’s story than expected.
At the PlayStation 4 announcement event back in February they revealed that the PlayStation 4 is planned to be released this holiday season. However they didn’t specify into which regions and whether we can expect a worldwide release.
