Do you play Tiny Towers or Evony, or any of those persistent games that keep grown men tending farms and decorating their skyscraper instead of doing actual work?
Maybe you saw Farmville and thought: ‘I wish this had the added option of building military units and ruining someone else’s day.’ That could be cool right? I mean persistent works brilliantly in EVE online.
Sadly, you would be wrong, at least with Dawn of Fantasy.Dawn of Fantasy is set in the generic, forgettable ... [»]
The year is 2070, and although global warming has not destroyed the Earth, it has shaken things up a bit. Some resources have dried up, and others have become available through new technologies. You are a city builder, with access to ships and a number of resource-rich islands. The idea in Anno is to build cities and trade resources between your islands, and negotiate (or battle it out) with the other inhabitants.
Simply, Anno 2070 is a great city building game.If that’s what you’re interested in, this ... [»]
Only they’re not really. It looks like the rumours were indeed true; Bioware’s new game - teased by images and a short trailer - is indeed the next Command and Conquer game, a sequel to C&C Generals, as revealed at the Spike VGA’s this weekend. thing is? It is, like rumour suggested, actually being developed by Victory Games, which has now fallen ... [»]
Yesterday Gavin posted a news article about rumours of Kinect functionality coming to Epic’s mega franchise, Gears of War. The rumour originated from an IGN post earlier in the week, which revealed that sources close to the gaming website had divulged information on Kinect functionality coming to Gears of War.Cliff Bleszinski, who seems to have the internet hardwired into his brain constantly scanning for ... Dr. Richard Marks, the guy responsible for designing PlayStation Move believes that the camera and wand-based motion controller is better for Real Time Strategy games than the mouse and keyboard configuration found on PC’s. The PC is the bona-fide home of RTS games – but Marks believes that Move and the PS3 can usurp that particular throne – bringing ... [»]
Sony has been demoing some tech demo’s to the American media overnight and one of the demo’s is a RTS controller demo.I have to say I am completely blown away, not only are they demonstrating how an RTS is really possible on a console but at the same time they have demonstrated ... [»]
Order of War by Sqaure Enix will be shipping to stores and online some time next week. The title will be the first official fully Western developed (Wargaming.net) game from the Japanese publisher. The fact that its a WWII RTS just screams irony but then again maybe it doesn't... you decide.Anyway Valve's Steam site have promised to give away two extra and exclusive units to anyone who pre-orders the title from ... A title that we haven't given any love to since it was shown at E3 has been R.U.S.E, Â honestly I didn't even see the PR at E3 and it was only after I was having a conversation yesterday that it came up.So I went over and took at look at the official PR video from E3 where 2 blatant male models play this dodgy looking strategy game on the awesome Microsoft surface table.Minority Report effects aside the game looked pretty poor but then I took a wander over to the offiical site ... So after the long wait, Halo Wars has finally arrived to take a stab at the console RTS genre.
Ensemble Studios (Who have now been closed down) are responsible for some of the most popular PC real time strategy games of the last couple of years or so with their "Age of" series.
This time around they were given a huge ... [»]
Yes it's true, we have already finished the whole single player campaign in Halo Wars. Problem is, that because of the embargo that only ends on the 20th of February, we aren't actually allowed to tell you everything about it just yet.
What I can do however, is give you a good idea of what you can expect.
I have to ... [»]
Youtube user NextGenReport has posted up a string of videos showing off a total of 35 minutes of gameplay from the up and coming Xbox 360 RTS, Halo Wars.
From the video it is clear to see that the overall feel of the interface and music are sticking very closely to that of the FPS series, which is probably a wise idea ... [»]
Ok, I don't really know how to explain this one, but it's pretty awesome. The guy in this video has actually trained his parrots to play EndWar by teaching them the commands of the game. While he still needs to give them instructions on what to do, the mere fact that the game still has no problem recognising their commands is pretty amazing to say the least. It looks like the developers of EndWar have really done a great job with the system and as we all know, if they didn't, this entire game ... You may remember that just yesterday, we reported that the EndWar demo was not going to be coming to the PS3.The reason? We still aren't sure but this is really getting my interest because I want to know why. Are we looking at a scenario where companies are actually starting to get paid to keep their demo's exclusive?Well in ... [»]
