It’s no secret that this site is not fond of video game pirates, especially when their actions harm and jeopardise the video game industry.

If you ever played Demons Souls, then you no doubt know just how frustratingly difficult and merciless the title was. It was without remorse, and it caused many a gamer to throw in the towel. Geoff still goes into a comatose state whenever we mention the game.
Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to that game, is launching this week in Japan, but of course, the ... [»]
The new “Spring†Dashboard update has started rolling out, and will soon be mandatory for all connected consoles. As we told you earlier, the update doesn’t add very much – just support for a new disc format and Paypal support. One thing it apparently does do – as we speculated – is give Xbox 360 pirates a hard time.According to the seedy underside of the ... Halo Reach was released to Xbox Live Marketplace, hidden and only accessible to games reviewers. a group of sneaky hacker types managed to bypass Xbox Live’s security, downloading the game for themselves. they then released it – in Games on Demand and ISO form – to the internet at large. It appears that Microsoft were not in the giving mood this Halloween and rather went for the Trick part of the famous trick or treat. Instead of offering up free points, membership or games they decided to unleash yet another wave of Xbox Live banishments for pirates, cheats and hackers. In an act of ultimate irony the newly banned pirates have invaded the official forums to ... [»]

We’ve received confirmation that Sony’s redesigned PSP would be hitting local retail shelves soon – Great news, as its sleek, slidey design fills me with wanton techno lust. Smaller than the PSP-3000, the device is finally diminutive enough to fit comfortable in one’s pocket. If you’re a seasoned traveller though, there is a caveat. The PSPGo, unlike its fatter sibling does not have a removable battery, meaning that should your battery die on you ... [»]
We surmised recently that PSN was the superior platform, on account of its Ninja costumes for home avatars. Some of you said that the inclusion of pirates on Xbox Live would level the playing field. Well, it’s time to put that test, as Xbox Live avatars will indeed be getting pirate costumes.A shameless marketing tie-in with Capcom’s Pirate-themed RTS Age of Booty, the costumes will be available on March 25th. Of course, Ninjas are still way cooler than Pirates – so as far as I’m concerned the PSN still trumps it.Source : KotakuFor reasons why Ninjas>Pirates, hit the jump!Ninjas are more bad ass than pirates!
Ninjas have better hygiene, and they are less wasteful.
Ninjas always put the toilet seat down and wash their hands after going to the bathroom.
Ninjas kill everyone and they smell like fresh flowers.
Pirates are covered in guts and man-spackle. They have bits of spinach in their teeth.Ninjas also have magical Ninjitsu powers and better credit at the bank.
Pirates have a slow payment history.
Ninjas eat more grains and are very regular.
Ninjas can kill with ... [»]
When you see "Pirate" and "videogame" in the same sentence it normally recalls images of dodgy copied games and chipped systems, but not this time. This story has real pirates. As Reuters reports, increased attacks by Somali pirates around the Horn of Africa are threatening shipping routes, which could interrupt supplies of videogame hardware and software in the West. In this case I believe the west to be Europe and not the States. Somali pirates have plagued the Horn of Africa for years, but what's of particular concern now is that they've been encroaching into the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, impeding access to the Suez Canal -- a major shipping route that connects Europe to the Middle East and ... It’s a sight the really cheers me up, watching filthy pirates moaning and complaining that the evil Microsoft has once again decided enough is enough and have started turfing them all of Live. Reports started popping up everywhere last night that people were either receiving console bans (where the console can never go on Live again) or they were getting account bans (where their gamertag can never go on Live again). Apparently these morons were surprised that there stealth hacks had been picked up by Microsoft and are now scrambling around to try and resolve this issue by actually phoning Microsoft and pretending that they aren’t pirates. If you are a regular visitor you will know how much we hate pirates here at Lazygamer and anything that can be done to ... [»]
