Boy oh boy, it’s been a great year for quality gaming hasn’t it? Well, OK to be fair a lot of quality games have come out this year but it seems to me like the pressures of delivering big games by a certain date is definitely starting to take its toll, just ask Skyrim.

The Skyrim patch, released online through Xbox Live yesterday and on PSN a few days ago was meant to fix things. It’s done that - but also brought with it a host of brand new problems.
In short, you probably don’t want to install the update. The biggest problem with the patch is that it severely nerfs resistances. Picked a Nord and have gotten used ... [»]
There’s no denying that as good a game as it is, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is as full of bugs and glitches as it is side quests. Due to the game’s cheer scope and living open world, it’s understandable. Still, many people - especially those playing on PS3 - have been having some ... [»]
Its only been a day so far, but the current patch for Battlefield 3 has improved several facets of the popular shooter tremendously so far, fixing quite a few glaring issues. With that being said though, the patch hasn’t fixed everything, with some fans gnashing their teeth in anger whenever another player pulls out a flashlight and proceeds to use a solar flare ... [»]
There’s no doubt that Battlefield 3 is a success. Though its sales pale in comparison to its direct competitor, Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield and its focus on teamwork really has managed to find traction with those gamers who’ve perhaps tired of other shooters. It’s also a visual triumph on consoles, but especially the PC version, which looks pretty damned amazing when running on powerful, beastly PC ... [»]
Uncharted 3 is a great game. It’s a thrill-a-minute action blockbuster rollecoaster ride of fantastic set-pieces, wonderful platforming and…pretty awful shooting sections. For some reason, the gunplay got a makeover between Uncharted 2 and 3 - and many people are just not happy about it. Naughty Dog’s confirmed it’ll be patching the game soon, with a toggle to fix ... I just can’t stop playing Skyrim, and judging by the amount of copies then new fantasy world title has regenerated, neither can the rest of the gaming community. It’s a charming adventure on a massive scale, and it has to be one of the highlights of the gaming calendar.
Still, for all it’s positive values, Skyrim is one hell of a glitch-slapped game. There are ... [»]
World of Warcraft may not be everyone's cup of tea but that doesn't mean that it doesn't still have a massive following that still grows by the day, much to Activision-Blizzard's delight.
Making a gajillion dollars a day is obviously not nearly enough though, so the publishers are always looking to get even more gamers hooked on their monthly subscriptions and that's exactly ... [»]
Crysis 2? Great game, on all systems – but PC gamers had a lot to moan about (as PC gamers are wont to do); many felt it the game was dumbed-down from the original to appease those filthy, plebeian console gamers. More were outraged that the game’s graphical fidelity seems to have suffered from the co-development of the console versions. Where Crysis was capable of bringing just about any machine ... [»]
CD Projekt’s RPG du jour The Witcher 2 has been patched, fixing a host of issues, increasing performance - and most notably removes DRM from the game."Our goal is to make our fans and customers happy and to reward them for buying our game and DRM schemes does not support our philosophy as they might create obstacles for users of legally bought copies,†said CD Projekt development director Adam Badowski."Our approach to countering piracy is to incorporate superior value in the legal version. This means ... [»]

After playing the demo for Dragon Age 2, many Pc gamers were up in arms over how streamlined the dialogue wheel and skill trees are, something they see as “dumbing down†Pc games, making them suitable for the console masses. Many even moaned about the game’s graphical fidelity – which, though it’s vastly increased on consoles, isn’t quite up to the standard PC elitists ... [»]

We reported recently that Playstation 3 owners were suffering from a rather severe Mass Effect 2 bug that was causing the game to crash and corrupt save game files.
While losing save files can be a pain in the ass, there is nothing quite like losing a file after pumping over 40 hours into a game. Bioware are aware of the galaxy-sized bugger ... [»]
