As you know, this weekend saw the MSSA host the national Dota 2 trials this weekend in Johannesburg, to select a national team to take on Romania in an officially sanctioned test match. We already told you that there was a bit of controversy surrounding it all, thanks to the location and the short notices – meaning that only a handful of the country’s best players could attend.
The South African national trials for the official DOTA 2 team are taking place this weekend at Wits University in Gauteng and 60 players across the country will be representing their 5 respective clubs.
The MSSA has delayed the 2013 MWEB Online Dota 2 Championship which was supposed to take place over the weekend. The Online Dota 2 Championship is to serve as online qualifiers for the National Dota 2 Team trials.
A while back South Africa was challenged to a Dota 2 face-off by Romania. Even though we were caught off-guard, National Trials have been organised to determine which team will be selected as the Protea team to take Romania up on their challenge.
