Capcom recently announced that it would be bringing Resident Evil: Revelations – originally for the 3DS, and probably the best game in the franchise for years – to other systems, including the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and even the Wii U. Notice what’s missing? Yup; the game won’t be released on the PlayStation Vita. Capcom explains why. Poorly.
Lost Planet was one Capcom’s first big titles this generation - and the battles against the giant Akrid snow-beasties showed it to be a promising franchise. Lost Planet 2 pretty much removed everything that was cool about the first game, becoming an all-out action experience. From the first video available for the game’s next sequel, it looks like Capcom are taking it in a whole different direction - by making it more of a survival horror that looks like it draws inspiration from Dead Space.
This first footage from a German press event shows off some of the games arenas and mechanics - and it looks really good. It’s funny though; Capcom seem intent on turning its seminal survival horror series Resident Evil in to an action extravaganza, while at the same time turning one of its action-oriented titles in to a survival horror. The mind boggles.
Anyway have a look at the video, and let us know what you think. It might help though if you know a little German.
