Infinity Ward Haemorrhaging Staff

 - April 14th, 2010
Since Jason West and Frank Zampella’s somewhat less than amicable split from Activision, the situation at the in-house Infinity Ward seems to have gone from bad, to worse. And now with the founding duo having set up their own studio, cleverly called Respawn entertainment, Activision may be looking at a mass exodus of Infinity Ward staff. ... [»]

Masayuki Chatani, Sony’s technology platform boss has told Nikkei that the company will “face difficulties” if it continues to rely on the “sell-and forget model” that they currently employ. “Servers and the like have running costs… after we sell the hardware, though, we continue to sell products such as content and services,” he said, before ... Bobby Kotick Sells Stock on the Back of Modern Warfare 2, Makes Millions

 - November 13th, 2009
You can say what you like about Bobby Kotick – most of what you say would probably be along the lines of “Evil, Douchebag, Dickwad” and the like – but you can’t deny that he’s a shrewd and successful businessman. When the man that everyone loves to hate took over Activision in 1991, it was hanging by a thread, ... [»]

I was busy browsing around, reading random gaming articles as I’m prone to do when I’m supposed to be working, when I stumbled upon the official known issues list of Borderlands. Bobby Kotick Makes a Lot of Money

 - August 11th, 2009
Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision-Blizzard does not like videogames - or the people who play them. What he does like though is the revenue generated by the people who pay for them. Considering how much he personally made from us last year, it’s easy to see why. The head honcho at the world’s largest evil videogaming mega-corporation – responsible for the Warcraft, Call of ... Wii Costs Nintendo Less, Costs You More.

 - April 8th, 2009
According to a Credit Suisse, the Nintendo has dropped the Wii’s launch production costs by a staggering 45%. You’ll note, of course that the local price of Nintendo’s market- dominating unhighdef console has increased from it’s launch price of R2899 to it’s current, silly price of R3499. Generally, when production costs of any piece of electronics decreases, so to does its retail price, passing the saving on to the consumer. Not the case with Nintendo, who’ve easily been the most profitable this generation. Word is the European price is set to increase. Of course, with the general populace still ... [»]

Nintendo DSi getting a possible April US release date

 - January 15th, 2009
Nintendo's money printing machine (no not that one) will possibly see its upgrade hit US shores around April this year. According to 'multiple sources' (CVG's quote) the DSi will retail for $179 when it hits US shores. The DSi, for the uninformed, drops the GBA slot in favour of a SD slot, gets a bigger screen and a VGA camera and is 12% smaller. Also DSi Ware has launched for it in Japan serving a similar function to WiiWare.Given the ridiculous sales figures of the ... [»]
