Platforming is easily one of the simple game genres; you run, jump and collect stuff. It’s a genre we’ve all played since we first found the joy of video games - but despite their retro appearances platformers have delivered some of the most entertaining and challenging games of our time. 2011 was an especially good year for the genre - but which of the many ... One of the perks of this job - and it really doesn’t happen all that frequently - is that we sometimes get some pretty impressive, original, or interesting press kits. As I said, it doesn’t happen very often, but it did today.
Here’s a box I got from Sony’s local distributor. What’s in it?Opening it up, it’s just a box full of games, with some pictures of some happy people on the side.Folding the box according ... [»]
When LittleBigPlanet was released it redefined the way that levels could be developed and shared on consoles and was well worth all the praise it received. However when LittleBigPlanet 2 was released it changed the game entirely, now not only could you make custom levels but you could ... [»]
Videogames are often in the media, portrayed as terrible instruments of death that teach kids how to maim, murder and be generally reprehensible, emotionless husks. It’s not very often that they’re portrayed ... [»]
I am busy playing LittleBigPlanet 2 for review and last night while browsing around in the community section I found some fan films that have been made inside the actual game utilizing the available tools.
I happened upon this little Batman-inspired gem called "The Dark Knight Rises" made by Arnieboy74 which includes Batman, The Joker, Commissioner Gordon and even the Bat-bike. I was ... [»]
Media Molecule’s Play.Create.Share sequel has pretty much only just been released, and already it’s destroyed the userbase records set by the original. According to the studio it’s "massively outstripped" the number of concurrent users the first game saw. "Because we had the awesome beta, fan reaction ... [»]
Later this week, one of my most anticipated PS3 games makes its way to local retail shelves; LittleBigPlanet 2, sequel to Media Molecule’s exceptional Play.Create.Share title. While some found the title to be a bit boring, and Sackboy to have a bit of a floaty jump, they’ve ... [»]

You know you’ve reached the zenith of online popularity and fame when you are immortalised in a game. It just happened to that Red Shirt Guy who corrected Blizzard on their own World of Warcraft law; he has now, apparently, asked them to remove his immortalising dwarf representation (called Wildhammer Fact ... I loved LittleBigPlanet and I love Sackboy – he’s just so gosh-darn cute you can’t help loving him. One thing I love more, however, is the decidedly dark but fascinating LIMBO. I f*****g loved LIMBO... LOVED it.So what happens when two of my all-time favourite platformers collide? I get ridiculously excited ... [»]
I’m starting to wonder if there’s anything that can’t be done in Media Molecule’s upcoming Play.Screate.Share sequel LittleBigPlanet 2. The game’s still in beta, with a limited toolset, and already hosts a plethora of ingenious levels and recreations. We’ve seen a Vietnam FPS, Street Fighter, Left 4 Dead, Flower, FL0w and even Pac-Man lovingly recreated using the LittleBigPlanet 2 engine; and ... Insert sadface here. I’m a huge fan of LittleBigPlanet. While my own creativity and willingness to build levels is somewhere near the 0 on a number line, the creativity exhibited by others using the game’s “Play. Create. Share†ethos is astounding. LittleBigPlanet 2 is set to transcend the original, allowing users to create more than just platforming levels – and judging by the youtube ... [»]
Yesterday saw the local launch of Apple’s latest technolust generating gadget, the iPhone 4, with both MTN and Vodacom throwing huge parties to commemorate the event. We were invited to MTN’s shindig, and with so many people showing off the iPhone 4, I was reminded of a joke about those who possess such devices; How do you know somebody has an iPhone?
They’ll tell you.On that note, thanks to MTN for very ... [»]

Everyone loves sackboy, LittleBigPlanet 1 was awesome and from my brief experience with it at E3 the sequel is simply better. That’s all there is to say really, check the new trailer after the break and then put aside some cash to get this game later in the year.
