Guitar Hero 5: Reviewed – Same Old Song An’ Dance?

 - November 5th, 2009
Guitar Hero, we all know it, some love it and some hate it. Most of you love it though because there's nothing like having the feeling that you are a true rock star without having actually learnt to play an instrument, or being doped up for 8 months straight. Guitar Hero 5 comes in ... [»]

 - September 24th, 2009
What better way is there to start a public holiday than to sit back and listen to Yahtzee rip into our two favourite music games. Well a better way would have been to go out last night to the wee hours in the morning and then completely sleep past this post ... [»]

Courtney Love finds Unlikely Ally in Jon Bon Jovi

 - September 17th, 2009
While the furore over Kurt Cobain’s tawdry appearance in Guitar Hero 5 continues, Courtney Love has found an ally in New Jersey’s most famous cheesy sentimental hair-rocker with a panty-melting smile, Jon Bon Jovi. "To hear someone else's voice coming out of a cartoon version of me? I don't know. It sounds a little forced," the Bon Jovi frontman told the BBC. The bleeding Romeo (who incidentally will love you, baby - always) was approached by Activision to appear in the game too, but politely declined. "I ... [»]

Courtney Love to Exact her Revenge on Activision

 - September 10th, 2009
Guitar Hero 5 is available to our friends in the northern Hemisphere – and there’s been a lot of controversy over the way that the unlockable deceased musicians in the game, Kurt Cobain and Johnny Cash, have been handled. Forgoing the reverence and respect employed by Harmonix with their digital recreation of The Beatles, Neversoft’s execution has been tawdry, gaudy and in general poor taste. People ... [»]

Guitar Hero 5’s New Modes and (Unconfirmed) Track List

 - July 9th, 2009
Guitar Hero 5, despite its name, will not be the fifth Guitar Hero game. It’s been preceded by at least seventy-thousand titles bearing the guitar Hero epithet. It’s easy to see why Activision are bleeding this franchise dry; It’s netted them over $2 Billion in revenues. Shows how many people have inner rockstars they’re desperately trying to ... [»]

Guitar Hero 5 to Launch With New Drum Kit?

 - July 7th, 2009
Blurry images have been floating around the internet purporting to be leaked pictures of Guitar Hero 5’s new drum peripheral. Yes, another one. The new set appears to be an odd amalgamation of the current World tour set and the Rock Band drums. Controls have been moved to the front of the kit, the odd cymbal pads have been replaced with full, round cymbals – and most importantly the bass pedal appears to be tethered ... [»]
