Local BF3 team takes France in the World Nations Tournament

South Africa seems to be making a mark on the international eSports scene, more so than ever. Another South African Battlefield 3 team, competing in the World Nations Tournament (on console this time!) beat last year’s champs over the weekend. We had a chat with the platoon founder Ruan Kraft about the tournament and the match against France.

Modern Warfare 3 Reveal Trailer

Yesterday Activision announced that they would be posting the first Modern Warfare 3 trailer of any substance at around midnight our time. So while you were all tucked up in bed and dreaming of roses and cupcakes we were slogging away waiting for the trailer to be revealed. Okay fine that’s not true we were playing games and drinking beer, but let’s pretend we’re more dedicated than that okay.

5-Year-Old Boy Stabs Sister Over DS

A French mother in the Gallic town of Uckange was awakened on Saturday night by the sound of her ten-year-old daughter screaming. The reason for her caterwauling? Apparently her 5 year old brother, enraged by his sibling’s refusal to let him play her Nintendo DS, stabbed her in the chest with a kitchen knife. The attack was apparently inspired by a Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers game involving knives, but there are reports that the family has been victim to a history of domestic violence. The girl is thankfully alive, but still in hospital. I can’t help but feel though that this could have all been avoided if the family in question had – in true imaginary French fashion – replaced all their kitchen utensils with baguettes. France has the right idea about piracy

As you may know by now I hate piracy, I feel it is just as bad as walking into CNA and stealing a game of the shelf and I am all for pirates being caught and punished.

However I never expected any country to take it as seriously as France seems to be.

According to a new law that is being put forward in France if you are caught pirating anything over the Internet your Internet connection will be severed permanently.
