For the tens of people with 4K capabilities, I guess Alessandro's article from last week was interesting. But today I'm faced with an even bigger challenge, writing enough words for Geoff not to beat me, all about one imagine that CD Projekt Red has decided to release in the wild. Challenge accepted!
The Witcher 3 isn't just an awesome game that everyone is looking forward to. It's not just about pretty footage, it's about setting a new benchmarks for games in general - specifically RPGs. PAX East hosted a panel for developers during which they explained the extras that were only made possible thanks to the added power of the current generation of gaming platforms. Plus, we find out some things they're really proud of.
I knew that I'd fill my hard drive on the new generation consoles; I just didn't expect them to fill up this quickly. 500GB sounds like a lot, but when games are easily 20-30GB, that space fills up much faster. The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is promising a massive world and over 100 hours of gameplay. So, I guess the install size on consoles shouldn't surprise us too much.
No, it's not all about sex in games. But, sometimes games use sexuality in a realistic way - to show an intimate connection or possible alliances. This isn't Game of Thrones style sex for sex's sake gratuity; The Witcher shows sex for a reason. And lots of it.
A whole bunch of new info dropped for The Witcher 3, making everyone far too excited. As one of this year's most anticipated games, we all want to know what to expect and just how awesome Geralt of Rivia will be. But there's another playable character this time, and Ciri will offer a completely different experience.
Igromir isn't the name of an awesome new weapon or minion - it's an expo in Russia that sounds like our rAge but bigger and cooler. I'm glad that more countries are getting cool expos, although Igromir competes with rAge for loving and generally wins. Still, here are some awesome screens to come out of the expo.
I think every gamer loves the guys from CD Projekt Red. Beyond just being really nice guys with awesome Polish accents, they come out every now and then to say how they hate DRM and make their upcoming Witcher game sound even cooler. However, this latest announcement might just make some people rather confused.
CD Projekt Red has been in the game for a while now. They have won the eternal love and adoration of gamers by coming out every few months to say that The Witcher will be totally DRM-free if that's how you want it. Now they're getting a new look, but I'm sure it's also sans-DRM.
The Witcher games are visually stunning. In fact, in my household they're the markers for when it's time for a gaming PC upgrade. I was upset that Witcher 3 was delayed, but at least it gives me another year to save up for top of the range components. But CD Projekt RED is also using tech to optimize the load.
We loved The Witcher 3 at E3 2013, so much so that it ended up winning our game of the show. The Witcher guys loved that and placed us on their honour wall in their not-so-brand new trailer that was released to the public today.
