Right now, I’m struggling to fit a dubious amount of rubber into my luggage for the rAge trip tomorrow and the Saturday cosplay. I’m most likely going to die on that Saturday, so any of you have some bottled water and a straw, that would be most appreciated if you find me. Back on topic: Dragon Con went down a couple of weeks ago, bringing the best, brightest and weirdest cosplay out into the open. Check it out!

By Jove, I think the chap behind this cosplay video is on to something! As much as I love seeing cosplay shown off on the world wide interwebs, I have to admit that the formula for creating such videos is becoming a bit formulaic and stale. But a video that has random cosplayers at the Wrestlemania of all dress-up events singing along to a classic song? Genius!

We’ve previously tried to see what this generations best franchise is, based on critical reception – but now we want to find out what real-life gamers think. Since the beginning of the 7th generation we’ve seen some pretty amazing game franchises.

So here we are, this is the end, my beautiful friends…Ignoring that bit of reference from The Doors, this is the final award that we have to give out this year. It’s for the game that blew us away, that stole hours upon hours from our life, and gave back phenomenal gameplay and fun in return. And the Lazygamer game of the year 2012 award goes to…

Multiplayers are dominated by shooters, whether it’s on console or PC. But what makes a great multiplayer? Everything: from latency to good map layouts, potential for league play or pure addiction. This year, we’ve seen some top notch multiplayers release, the best of them being…

Shooters aren’t just about shooting (doh!), it’s about the sheer thrill of tactical gameplay and strategy. That head-shot from 300m away, that SMG rush, that AK-47 destruction, and then sometimes there’s a story in it or whatever. There’s been a great battle of the shooters this year, but whether you love it or hate it, the award goes to…

Everybody loves them some action, just last night we were watching The Expendables 2 and I loved the crap out of every badly written line of it. The same thing applies to action games, we don’t care about the story, we just care about the ass kicking! However, we are fortunate to have gotten some great action games this year, most of which had an amazing story and/or art direction. The best out of all of them just happened to be…

I know what you’re all going to say and NO it’s not Far Cry 3 okay! 2012 has delivered a great many nerdgasms with its awesome line-up of visually stunning games and not just on PC (looking at you Master Race). The best looking game award goes to...

Digital distribution of videogames has become an important part of the industry, more so than ever this year. No wonder that some games have been made available only for digital purchase. Between these titles, no matter the lack of super billion dollar funding, we’ve found some real gems, and the best, most amazing, took-the-world-by-storm downloadable game of the year is…

We’ve had plenty of sequels as usual this year, but nowhere near as many rule of three games as what 2011 saw. But mixed in with those twos, threes and fours were plenty of new games, ranging from action through to puzzle. But out of all those new intellectual properties, only one of them could be the best, and that brand spankin’ new future franchise is…

It’s been the year of the Indie pretty much since the get go. From Steam releases to Kickstarter to Greenlight, the industry and community has shown Indies great love. The genre has changed forever and for the better, producing some of the year’s best games, that’s right, I’ve said it: Best! Out of all the amazing titles, the hard boiled gunplay and skull crashing close combat victory goes to…

Twas the season to equip boots of +5 award-winning! 2012 was a big year for RPGs, as we saw the Diablo 3 finally released, alongside the likes of Guild Wars 2 and Kingdoms of Amalur. Some scored big, some failed hard and some were practically meh. But only one of those genre games could stand head and shoulders above the rest. And that winner is…

If there’s one genre that got some love this year, it was the one of fisticuffs and scantily clad female combatants. Fighting games helped kick off the first half of 2012, with a few heavyweights stepping up in the latter half of the year, but there could be one champ at the end of the day. And that KO punch of sublime victory came from…
