Burnout Paradise DLC honouring Harold Ramis

Criterion Games has released one of their Burnout Paradise DLC car packs for free honouring the late Harold Ramis, who passed away this Monday at the age of 69.

Project Gotham Racing isn’t coming back

Racing game fans are spoilt for choice these days. Forza, Gran Turismo and the upcoming Project Cars look like they were made from the dreams of petrolheads. But I suck exhaust fumes at those games. I don’t want a pure simulation. I want fun, which is why I loved the Project Gotham Racing series. But don’t expect to see that franchise rack up any kudos anytime soon.

Microsoft wants their new CEO to kill off Xbox

The higher up you are in your career, the more pressure you’ll find waiting for you. And when it comes to Microsoft, new CEO Satya Nadella is going to find a ton of that waiting for him as the company once again gets down to the business of making even more money than ever. Except the Xbox Division might not be around to see all that cash flow back to the home of Windows.

Titanfall heads into open beta next month

It’s not a good time to be an Xbox One owner. If you’re a fervent believer in the fictional marketing idea known as the console wars, then you might as well wave the white flag right now. That console is getting trumped in the hardware battles, but then again, it’s games which define a machine. Games such as Titanfall which fans are desperate for. And it looks like you’ll be getting a taste of it next month.

Earth Defence force 2025 set to release February 18th

Right off the bat, this is the release date for PS3 and 360, so that’s going to tick off a couple of people already. People want EDF for the current gen consoles and PC. The way I see it, fans of this game are damn lucky that this game even gets localised for sale outside of Japan. Think of the Earthbound fans!

Take-Two CEO says PS4 & Xbox One will outsell predecessors in five years

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick thinks the PS4 and Xbox One will outsell last generation's consoles within five years. This prediction comes after a good start to sales for both consoles this week.

Telltale Games: The Walking Dead Season two tweets returning characters

Telltale Games: The Walking Dead returns for season two to horribly depress you on any device you may own. The picture above was tweeted by Telltale Games clearly depicting recurring character Omid and Clementine from season one. It is unknown how your actions in season one will affect his involvement with Clementine. He was missing from the teaser trailer below, released in October, but he plays a deeper role in Clementine’s story than expected.

NFS Rivals: Next gen dev “very straightforward”

I got on the phone and quizzed Ghost Game’s James Mouat on the development of Need for Speed: Rivals; a launch title racer coming to the PS4. He shared his insights working on the latest iteration of the staple racing title.

Thief on Xbox One isn’t about ‘pushing more polygons’

Hey! Look behind you! Yoinks! While I scuttle off with your pilfered bus tickets (VICTORY IS MINE), you can ponder to yourself just what kind of a game Thief will be on current and next-gen systems. Will superior graphics make for a grander gameplay experience? Not exactly, says Eidos-Montreal.

Xbox has a “ton of exclusives” in store for E3

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the console generations of our lives. While Playstation won me over with the first and second generations of the modern console era, over the last eight years, I’ve unashamedly felt that Xbox had the best console this generation. Even though when it came to exclusive games, it had about as many of those as Star Trek had good sequels. Time to change all that then, as Microsoft has something up its sleeve for the upcoming future.

You can now grab pizza from your Xbox 360

I’ve got to hand it to Microsoft, because they certainly do know how to ring every single last cent out of a product. The Xbox 360 already makes cash from Live subscriptions and advertisements, and now, it’s adding fast food to the coffers.

Rumour – The Next Xbox will have mandatory Kinect

Move aside Playstation, because you’ve got some competition on the way. While everyone is waiting to see what Sony will be announcing on February 20 (PLAYSTATION MOVE 2!), there’s also Microsoft and their Xbox division, with codename Durango on the horizon. So what can we expect from that piece of next-gen tech? Mandatory installs, Kinect integration and multi-tasking, for starters.
