Destiny

How big are the pre-orders for Destiny? World-record setting in fact. But there’s more to Destiny than just numbers. There are also matches to be won in the Crucible. Check it out!

Only four weeks to go until you can get your hands on Destiny for PS3 and PS4. Here’s a taste of what to expect from The Crucible – the multiplayer portion of Destiny.

Destiny’s first expansion pack, The Dark Below arrives in December. More guns, enemies and modes can be expected in that. BRING IT ON!

So how has a brand new IP become the most popular pre-ordered game in history? Well by using PR speak that’s how, the real fact is that Destiny is the most pre-ordered new IP in history and does not realy stack up to pre-orders for known franchises like Grand Theft Auto.

However it’s still pretty impressive and worth blowing their horn about.

  1. In all fairness I pre-ordered twice to get early download access during the beta.

    Must be that….

Yeah, I think we’ll only know once it ships, but I suspect it’ll do quite well. I just hope the hype is justified, and Activision doesn’t pull an Activision by hiding content behind DLC and microtransactions. :/

And take advantage of 15 million next-gen gamers? No, I don’t think that’s how Bob works 😛

Bobby wants to swim his money lake… I think it’s a given that Destiny will probably get the COD makeover and treatment. Ah well, I’ll enjoy the first one and ignore the 10 copy-and-pasted sequels (to follow).

I’m not surprised really, I enjoyed the Beta on the Xbox 360, and the feedback I received from friends on other platforms showed just how enjoyable the game is. Hopefully it has enough launch content to keep the people interested long enough.
