Mass Effect trilogy coming to PS4 and Xbox One

According to a Chilean gaming retailer, zmart, the much lauded Mass Effect trilogy is about to be released as a single title for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The products have since been removed but not before Joystiq was able to snap these two pictures. The overwhelming response from most people I can see on the Internet is that they’ll pick this up in an instant if EA releases it with all the DLC included at a fair price.

One of my many embarrassments is that I’ve never played through the Mass Effect series so the possibility of getting the entire series for the Xbox One or PS4 definitely appeals to me. Unfortunately there isn‘t much stock that we can put in this listing as a Chilean national pointed out on Neogaf. This same shop currently has GTA V and Mass Effect 4 listed as coming to the Wii-U.

With that being said however it is clear to see that there is a lot of demand for the Mass Effect series to be ported over to the current gen consoles and seeing that EA is always lambasted for just wanting our money I can’t see how they could ignore doing this.

If you’ve played the series before would you be interested in redoing it on the new, more powerful, hardware or is it something that once done can’t really be enjoyed the second time around?

“…is it something that once done can’t really be enjoyed the second time around?” Think I am on about my seventh time around…

It gets hard to understand a plot if the only plot you have had contact with was from Doom and CoD. 😛

Doom had the best plot ever! “A portal to hell has been opened on Mars, go forth and fuck shit up”

I prefer Duke Nukem. “Pig Aliens stole all the hot girls and you ran out of gum.”

Plot? What plot? Who needs plot? I heard in this game you shag hot blue skinned aliens and that was all I needed to go and buy the game…

I am playing it again, and I realized that last gen I could have bought only four games and I would have been set for life: ME 2+3, Saints Row 3 and Skyrim.

ME1 was good, but I won’t classify it as highly essential, to be honest.

I’d say the same with mass effect 3 on the ending half. The plot started to fall apart, either that or all come together. Biggest and most ridiculous plot twist. I expected my Shepard to die, but not the way he did. The fact that everyones ending was the same was an insult.

Agreed, but never as sweet of a feeling as the first go.

I just recently finished up ME1 and ME2 with all the DLC. Taking a couple weeks off before I start ME3 and the additional 10GB of DLC I purchased for it. I def felt screwed over with the price of the DLC but it does add to the experience significantly and the games are truly epic in scope.
I’m tired of paying for everything twice the last 2 generations so I’ll just wait for the inevitable 4k upgrade on my next gen PC.

If it includes all the DLC then I think R800 is quite a fair price for 3 of the best game of this generation.

Im curious about something… Is this going to be a direct port over with no enhancements to graphics? Or will they bump it up a bit for the new gen consoles? Hell either way i dont mind ill still buy the trilogy for the new consoles. If they bump up graphics a bit then i wouldnt complain either lol

It’s the story, characters, gameplay, how the story changes with the choices u make so the way i play it will be different to how u play the game so we both will have different experiences. The overall experience is fantastic. It has a bit of everything in there.

If they were to port ME1 to the ME3 engine, this would be a no-brainer.

Already have the trilogy on PS3 and all DLCs. Would buy it on Ps4 but only if all dlcs are included for every game.
