Rumours about the next numbered chapter in the post-apocalyptic, vault-punctuated Fallout series have been all over the internet since 2008, which makes the quarterly ones that crop up seem a little like the boy who cried wolf. With E3 right around the corner and the fact that Bethesda has – for the very first time – organised its own conference at the annual gaming industry extravaganza, those rumours are back.
Brought to you by renowned German site PCGames.de, this latest rumour says that while Bethesda won’t have Fallout 4 on the show floor at E3 this year, they will be showing a 20-30 minute demo of the game to journalists behind closed doors. They’re citing anonymous sources, making verifying this rather tricky.
If this is true (and I certainly hope it is), I’ll be harbouring some extreme jealousy for those who’ll be attending E3 this year. Fallout is one of my favourite franchises; starting all the way from Interplay’s iconic isometric RPGS to the newer, first-person shooter RPGS.
2012 rumours have suggested that this next one will take place on Boston.
“I’ve been hearing reports from people in the Boston area, where my fellow Fallout-obsessed brother lives, that Bethesda has been in the Boston area doing initial research for Fallout 4.”A random Redditor said back then “It’s highly speculative, but the main rumors surround Bethesda’s connection to “The Institute”, or what we call the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or M.I.T.”
That would be an interesting setting. In the established fallout lore, New England – or The Commonwealth – houses the “Institute,” which has perfected AI and is capable of building synths. Perhaps, in a sort of Blade-Runnery way, you’ll even be playing the game as an Adnroid, unware that you’re an AI. Hmm.

And depending how you play the game you either watch the trails in the sky and then see the explosions up close or hear about it on the radio followed by a sudden burst of static and then silence.

Hopefully I won’t make the same mistake with Fallout 4 than what I did with Fallout 3 and not adhere to the fast travel system, in fact it took me longer to finish Fallout 3 than what it did to finish Skyrim…

I hardly used fast travel in either game, I like traveling from place to place.
Also didn’t use a horse in Skyrim.

I can’t remember how long I took on Fallout 3, but I’m pretty much a completionist… and put about 270 hours into Skyrim, 200 into New Vegas, 170 into Oblivion, etc. *
Have to see and do everything!!!!
Hell I put 83 hours into GTAV SP… twice.
* These numbers are approximations from terrible memory

Hahahaha! I used to have a lot more time to play than I do now, but I still put a lot of time into games.
My total Steam play time (across all games, since Jan 2014), is 441 hours… I played Fallout and Elder Scrolls pre-Steam… it does include 192 hours on Don Bradman 14 though. Then there’s time spent on Xbox360 too… which can’t be measured, but it’s possibly double my time on Steam thanks to GTAV, Lego games, Charlie Murder, Castle Crashers, etc.

They could not have picked a better place than Boston? California, Chicago, New York? Well Whatever its just a minor problem for me. I think a Fallout 4 will be great. That whole android thing sounds interesting as well and hope something is shown soon at E3 or a later date this year. Do be honest I was looking forward to an Elder Scrolls 6 but i also figured that after the success of Skyrim that they can hold off on that for a while because i still play that one. I figured that another Fallout would be announced before another Elder Scrolls. It seem accurate too meaning the Bethesda always separates there games usually five years so a Fallout 4 was a few years over do, I knew it had to be coming soon.

I don’t know why i could not enjoy Fallout 3, i mean i loved the great big world and RPG elements but the characters and protagonist was so dull that i just lost interest, hope they attend to that without spoiling the game for hardcore fans, but will keep my eye on it past E3.
