Uncharted 2’s Twitter spam is not welcome

Integrating Twitter into Uncharted 2 was an original idea by Naughty Dog that was well received by the press before the games release.

Unfortunately the game is now under review by quite a few journalists on the planet and there seems to be a slight side effect to the Twitter mania, it’s as annoying as hell.

You see instead of sending a Tweet at the end of your playtime it notifies all your followers of all the interesting things that are happening to you in game. Or in other words annoys them with it’s incessant boasting about how you finished a chapter or unlocked a trophy.

The Tweets have become such an issue that Naughty Dog have already disabled the annoying feature and will be looking at how they can improve the product prior to release.

Maybe a good idea would be to remove it entirely but if not and you have quite a few followers I would strongly recommend against setting it up when you crack open your copy of Uncharted 2.

I can already see the 360 fanboy sites like Edge and Kotaku, using this as a pretext for lowering U2’s review scores.. :getlost:

Kotaku doesn’t use scores in their reviews..so lowering them would be quite a feat. :silly:

At the end of the day, what does it matter what two sites give the game? It’s irrelevant.

Lol, I obviously forgot to read the Press Release from Edge and Kotaku where they announced their undying love and worship for the Xbox 360, what with Sketch throwing it out as fact and all.

well if you are reviewing the game as an entire package it would make sense that this would mark it down a little. However I think Edge and Kotaku are both professional enough to ensure this doesn’t interfere with a gameplay review.

It does however bring a new issue to the table with reviews, when does the review stop? Do we just review the game itself or the entire package?

Sorry you took it as such. It’s just my opinnion based on their track records. Edge consistently rates PS3 exclusives lower than 360 exclusives. And Kotaku posts an awful lot of ‘Sony is doomed’ articles. I know neither of these sites has a personal vendetta against Sony. They only do it because controversy generates more interest than regular news. But that doesn’t make it right, though.

Oops, my bad. I’ve only ever read previews on Kotaku. No actual reviews..
