Gem? No, that sounds stupid. Sphere? Better, but it doesn’t quite have much impact behind it. Love Wand? Perfect, but probably not suitable for mass market…*ahem* penetration.

According to VG247, a sneaky ninja source  – speaking under conditions of anonymity (or DEATH!) – the newfangled wagglerods will be marketed under the moniker of “Arc”.

Sony’s motion controller, a system that utilises Wiimote-like wands adorned with trackable balls, used in conjunction with the PS3 Eye is scheduled for release sometime “this year,” but has yet to receive an official name. Asked about the rumour, Sony have of course have responded saying “We don’t comment on rumour or speculation.”

What do you fine folks think? Is the name real? Is it stupid? Would you rather be holding “Arc” in your hand, or “The Love Wand?”
