PS3 sales figures are also strong

SonyLarge

With Microsoft earlier announcing sales of 750 000 for the Black Friday week and the Wii-U clearing its entire stock of 400 000 units during the same period all eyes turned to Sony to see if they were going to announce how they did.

And thankfully they have and they can be proud of their efforts with PlayStation 3 sales of 525 000 units over the holiday shopping week.

That’s only half the story though with Sony also announcing that sales of its rather excellent PSN+ are now up 259% year on year which has a lot to do with its incredible value for money and amazing offerings.

The PS Vita however wasn’t as strong but still managed sales of 160 000 units compared to the 3DS’s 250 000 and DS’s 275 000 units.

Remember these are only American sales but they do give an indication of momentum at least.

Are you planning on buying any consoles this year?
