No Co-op for The Last of Us

OMG! It's Michael Jackson!

You might imagine, with the game’s two protagonists, that Naughty Dog’s show-winning The Last of Us would be perfect for co-op. Unfortunately (or fortunately!), that’s just not going to happen.

The game’s campaign will be a single player only affair – and I’m glad for it, actually. Co-op is fantastic, but I’m happy that Naughty dog is focusing on making the Last of Us an incredible single-player experience, instead of shoe-horning co-op in for a back-of-the-box bulletpoint feature. they will, however, be stuffing some sort of multiplayer in to the game…which I’ll probably end up ignoring.

"We are supporting multiplayer with The Last of Us," the game’s creative director Neil Druckmann said to Gaming Examiner. "We’re not ready to talk about the details of how multiplayer will be implemented, however we can say that it is not co-op within the main campaign."

The Last of Us is one of the few games from E3 that really got me excited. It seems like a fresh take on the overplayed Post-apocalyptic scenario – and the lack of auto-magic healing coupled with the intriguing crafting system only make it more intriguing.
