Kadokawa Games, the publisher behind Lollipop Chainsaw, has released a new teaser trailer for an RPG. It’s hard to tell much from the video, but Natural Doctrine does look pretty cool. Are RPGs going through a Japanese renaissance?

As far as I can tell, all we know is that Natural Doctrine will make use of natural selection. Oh, and it will be a fantasy game with cool looking monsters. I’ve got to say, I’m curious to see more. I’m loving the resurgence in RPGs, and I’m really hoping for JRPGs to make a come back. They often have truly innovative ideas and game designs. No, not aesthetically, but the rest of the design can be quite cool.
Natural Doctrine is coming to PS3, PS4 and PSVita. Is this a title you’ll be keeping an eye on?

I shall be looking out for more info on this, cant tell too much from the ad but looks interesting.
Totally, bring on the ol jrpg’s, I really want to see a reinvention of pure turn based combat.

I would love to see pure turn based combat make a comeback. Actually having to plan my moves rather than just smashing auto battle!

exactly, or doing an attack, then run in circles during cooldown, attack, run in circle cooldown etc etc, so much fun.

I agree gone is the magic of casting reflect on your party members and bouncing spells off them onto bosses for increased damage!
