Happy days, happy days. Mass Effect 2 releases for the Playstation 3 today which means that a whole horde of new gamers will also finally get to experience one of the finest games ever made.

Mass Effect is a very story driven game and the truth that Bioware and EA really don’t want you to know is that kicking off your Mass Effect experience without playing the first one is about as bad an idea as they get. It’s a complex universe with rich character building and a very specific plot and after watching the interactive comic (also posted below) that is supposed to let you all catch up, I realised that it missed out on some MAJOR plot points.

So you can still watch the interactive comic, but trust me when I say that you will want to watch the following videos before embarking on your journey or you WILL find yourself wondering what the hell is going on.

Hit the jump for the a great (and funny) story recap by IGN as well as a Bioware recap narrated by Martin Sheen as well as the interactive comic that releases with the PS3 version of the game.

If the original Mass Effect was never released for PC as well, I would recommend PS3 gamers to get an xbox, but instead – if you really want to get the definitive experience- , get the original for your PC!! What are you waiting for… DO IT NOW!
