Latest Comic-Con Gran Turismo Gameplay Still Lacking Car Damage Smoking
   July 26th, 2010 clock image 11:30 am

GT5wreck.jpg

I’m starting to get a little worried here…

Gran Turismo 5 is supposedly only a few months away and while it’s becoming more and more difficult to contain my excitement (especially since playing it at E3) there is still no proper car damage to be seen.

This latest footage comes directly from Comic-Con in San Diego and still shows no indication of any sort of proper car damage. After major bumps and bashes the cars are all still fine and seem to also still handle fine as well.

There is no denying that this game is going to be properly epic when it launches, but I’m starting to get worried that we are going to see features missing at launch, or even worse, the launch dates being fiddled with yet again.

Gameplay footage after the jump.

Car panels flying off the front and back might expose some lack of detail I think . And those guys are perfectionists. So I expect panels to stay intact.

  • Uberutang

From what I have learned by playing with some Forza freaks the idea is not to crash at all…

  • MieLLiePaP

Yes true Uberutang…, but if you crash in Forza, then there is Damage and then you have to deal with it till you finish…..or use a flashback if you play single player

  • darthdad

meh! Could not care less about damage. If I want to crash cars I’ll play burnout.

  • koldFU5iON

    maybe Damage was turned off?

  • De Floert

LOL, this isn’t gt5 but footage from the ps2 gt4! Amazing how many think this is the real thing…

    Now that’s a racing game I can agree with… I love Burnout

Dear lazygamer there will be much more information released by polyphony on august the 17th at gamescon not some stupid anime infested comic con rubbish!

please follow miranda hinojosa’s tweets or follow his interviews if you want to be educated

  • DirkBenedict

This smug ‘Well I don’t plan on hitting anything’ thing doesn’t hold much water as long as a significant advantage can be got by hitting stuff. For a long time the top lap times on High Speed Ring in GT5P involved a well timed *bounce* off one of the walls!
