Holy over-milked franchise Batman! It’s another Gran Turismo game released within months of a previous update! Yep, it looks like gamers are going to get a third chance now to hop onboard the hyper-sim racing game, with the recently announced Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition.

According to the US PS Blog, the latest iteration of the racing franchise will include:

  • Original Gran Turismo 5 game, featuring more than 1,000 cars, 20+ locations with 70+ track layouts, diverse racing styles including rally, track, karting, NASCAR, and more, deep online community features and online racing, plus Gran Turismo TV, Course Maker and more.
  • All of the new and improved features and functionality from all free downloadable game updates up through Spec 2.0 included on the disc.
  • Voucher good for over $20 worth of DLC content, including the Racing Car Pack, Car Pack 2, Course Pack, Racing Gear Pack, and Paint Pack.

In addition, the game will also ship with a reversible sleeve featuring the Redbull 2011 XL Super-Car, and will arrive later this month. No word yet about a local release date, but we’ll keep you up to date as soon as we hear about it.

So what say you, racing fans? Is Polyphony approaching Capcom levels of rereleasing a GT5 game, or will this updated version compel you to give the racing sim a shot?
