If retail release dates are to be believed (and Gamestop is normally pretty close) we are only now expecting a GT5 release on the 1st of November 2010.

That’s around 9 1/2 months from now (you could be a dad by then) or in other terms around 5 years late. GT 5 used to be a PS3 launch title which is why I find the continuous delays humorous if just a little annoying.

What’s more PD’s Kazunori Yamauchi has been chatting to USAToday and has now told us that GT5 is 90% complete, which makes that November release date even more likely.

God of War 3 is 100% complete and they are still planning on at least 3 months for bug fixing and refining, so with 10% to go on a 60 month development time we can easily expect 6 months development left with 5 months polishing time… it makes you feel ill thinking that they may miss a 2010 release date.

I think Kazunori Yamauchi should stop posing for press photo’s and get back to work, this has gone past ridiculous now.

    Good release date gives me time to buy all the games at my own pace. And plus Festive season is gonna be killer when this is released. They’ll surely end up second after this little monster releases

    If I was a PS3/GT fanboi I would be PISSED OFF!!! Honestly the game will sell well no matter when its released. Bad show from Sony IMHO.

      WTF there have been no delays for westerners? Yes the game is taking long but so what. Have you seen everything they plan on putting in to the game?

      I’m not even a fan of GT and i still appreciate what they are doing.

    $60 million budget and they cannot even get a Porsche into the game? Thats what amazes me…

      Licensing often doesnt have anything to do with money. There are many reasons Porsche are not in the game.

        that’s the way i see it. for a single manufacturer to not feature throughout the gt series, indicates a deep problem or issue between the two party’s.

    Taking this long to create a game makes me have to question the high levels of quality seen in the franchise. No real dis to PD, but a lot of developers can make fantastic games if they were give $60 million and half a decade

    people will still bow down and rush to buy this when iy is released….it sucks but is true…releasing in march is madness(GOW and others)… they should have had it ready in nov/dec 2009…

    that will be dissapointing if its true, but i read from the “source” in gtplanet that it has a Q2 possibly world wide june release

    I doubt sony will release gt5 the same time as halo reach it will come out before reach, so probably no later than September. Sony has moved the arc formally known as gem to a november release, so that will battle natal instead of gt5.

    I would not take shops release dates too seriously, as its always speculation, and are subject to change,
