According to Sony, the downloadable PSN version of the much beloved Final Fantasy VII has been downloaded over 100,000 times since it’s release in early June.
The 12 year old classic was one of the first Japanese RPG’s to garner mainstream western attention and still regularly features in many “Top Games” lists.
While 100,000 copies is quite an achievement for such an old game, considering its legacy and fanbase I can’t help but feel a little underwhelmed; Particularly when you factor in the 25 million users Sony’s online service has.
The game – playable on both the PS3 and The PSP – is just the one of an apparent barrage of new titles to be hitting the PSN soon. Titles on the horizon include Wild Arms 2, Mobile Light Force and Special Ops: Stealth Patrol.
