When you unbox your shiny new PlayStation 4 on the morning of December 13 (or about twelve seconds after midnight) you might find that your current, expensive headset doesn’t work with the thing. Especially if it’s Bluetooth – though USB ones wont work either. Yet.
That’s according to GameInformer, who got their information from Sony. If you have a headset that works using optical or HDMI, it’ll work for audio, but not for chat. It will get support in the future if it uses USB for its chat functions – after an update has gone out.
If you have one of those incredible Sony PULSE headsets, those won’t work either until a future system update adds support.
If, however, you use a standard Bluetooth headset for chatting or even audio purposes on your PS3, don’t expect it to work on your PlayStation 4. Ever.
Xbox 360 headsets, likewise, wont work for chat on the Xbox One out of the gate – but Microsoft has said it’ll make a converter available at some point in the future.

I had a P11 too. Got a Sony Pulse last month after Sony CONFIRMED that current headsets will work on the PS4. They CONFIRMED it on 28JUL2013. I googled the date it was reported.

One of my biggest reasons for gaming on the console is that my wife can be part of it. It is much more social and involving than PC gaming. I grew up with PCs and my first console was actually the PS3.
I still game on my PC, currently busy with the Witcher 2, but I game more on my PS3. I rarely play on the Xbox, bought it for Alan Wake, and currently busy with Tomb Raider (which is awesome). WiiU is collecting dust, waiting for Mario World!

lucky i dont use my headphones for a microphone and can just plug it into the sound system.
also that I dont use my headphones for my ps3 because I have a sound system for it.

The latest drivers are still Beta, so you will have to get those.
After getting stuttering and frame rate drops on my GTX670, I reverted back to older drivers (320.49 I think) and it went better.
However, apparently after the latest patch for BF4, things are going much better. So maybe the latest drivers are fine again.
