Arkham suits (3)

Whether you love or hate the concept, console exclusives in the form of digital fluff is here to stay. Batman: Arkham Origins is continuing that fine tradition of offering players a slice of exclusive cosmetic justice, as the game will give players a chance to strap on some armour or to head West. Adam West that is.

Playstation 3 owners get two exclusive costumes (Until the game of the year edition on all the other platforms arrives). The first costume available will be the suit worn in the Knightfall arc from the 1990s, when Batman had his back broken by Bane and left Gotham city in the hands of the vigilante Azrael.

Becoming the new Batman, Azrael designed a new version of the batsuit that featured bulletproof armour, cape flaps and gloves which could fire a barrage of batarangs. Oh, and it had a flamethrower built in. It was rad. Plus you really had to remove those gloves when you were done on the toilet.

The second suit available is based on the outfit that Adan West wore in the classic Batman TV series from the 1960s. Only this time, the suit is far more flattering. No word yet on whether hitting a criminal is accompanied by on-screen visual effects such as WHAM! BAM! POW!

In addition to those two costumes, there’ll also be five extra challenge rooms included. Arkham Origins is out October 25 on a bunch of platforms. Old chum.

I enjoyed Arkham Asylum a bit more than AC. Except for that terrible ending boss fight with the Joker. Please don’t stone me to death. They were both great games though.

LOL! That joker fight was a bit of a let down. Enjoyed the Poison Ivy fight though.

I’d laugh my arse off if they replaced the bat symbol on the costume with a broken bone.

Give it six months and the game of the year edition will be out, same as with Injustice. You can’t fool me a third time Warner Bros!!!

Nope. I think the open world kind of killed it, they put way too much stuff into it just for the sake of it…

It felt like those games where you need to hunt tricky achievements just because they are there. Nope, not for me. I want to be Batman, not fly through rings and chase after phone box’s.
