SplinterCell Blacklist officially unveiled

We saw a rumour not long ago that Microsoft would debut the Splinter Cell game from Ubisoft. They’ve done more than that – by giving a live demonstration of the game at their press conference.

“Get your troops out of our country or we’ll bring the war to you.”

Alex Parizeau and Max Beland from Ubisoft demoed the game on stage. “Killing in motion,” they say – demonstrating an evolved form the mark and execute we saw in Conviction. The game features Kinect voice recognition in an interesting way; you can make real-life noises and have enemies respond to them in game.

I have to say, it looks really good, bringing back some of the stealthy gameplay that was missing from conviction. Once again, it features single player, co-op and spies versus mercs.

It seems, unfortunately, that Sam’s promotion to head of third Echelon has come with a downside; Michael Ironside hasn’t reprised his role Fisher. That’s a real pity – because as far as I’m concerned, he’s what made the role.
