Ubisoft’s retooled Anvil engine is ensuring that the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series looks beautiful. Thanks to PC hardware’s generational leap, the PC version of the game will undoubtedly be the best looking for those with the requisite hardware.

If you plan to play the end of Desmond Miles’ trilogy on your ‘puter – then you might want to invest in a controller – and put away your mouse and keyboard for a while.

"We’re definitely supporting PC," said the game’s creative director, Alex Hutchinson to Gamespy. "We love PC, but I think it’ll be PC with a controller. I don’t see us investing hugely in a mouse and keyboard setup. I think if you want to play on PC and you want to play Assassin’s Creed, you have a controller."

It looks like the PC version is finally coming out day and date with the console version in October this year, which is great news for Pc gamers – but the bad news is it seems like the Pc version won’t be getting any special treatment and is likely to be a – and this is something no PC gamer likes to hear – a console port.

There’s also no indication of whether or not it’ll include the restrictive DRM that previous Assassin’s Creed gams have employed – but until there’s any news otherwise, it’s a safe assumption. Unless, that is, Ubisoft adopts that new strategy it’s been talking up, by offering more value and making games more like MMO’s.

I’m becoming ridiculously excited for this new Assassin’s Creed – but I’ll probably give the PC version a skip – and maybe opt for the Wii U Version.
