Modern Warfare 3 fly in a team of glitchers

As the old saying goes, if you can’t beat them join them, and it seems like Infinity Ward has taken this to heart and have decided to join with the glitchers.

Or at least bring some of them in and use them for some good.

According to a post on MapMonkeys, apparently it’s a forum for glitchers, 4 people have been chosen to fly to Infinity Ward’s studios to find glitches. Apparently this isn’t the first time they have done this but this is the first time they are going for an entire week.

It’s a smart move from Infinity Ward but I do wonder if these known glitchers will reveal everything they find or if they may hold some back to exploit when the game comes out. I mean if they have already been flown out for 2 other titles which ended up being massively glitchy why do Infinity Ward think things will be different this time?

It’s also quite amusing reading the forum posts where half the community think the 4 guys going don’t deserve it and the other half are more interested in talking about how awesome they are as modders.

Midway through the post someone even posted their chat logs from a conversation they had with a Treyarch developer after they were caught modding. He seems to think he stuck it to them in the chats but from what I read he was pretty petrified and just wanted to be left alone. You can check those logs out here and here

I know most of you know this, but there isn’t a thread so I thought I’d make one. Four members of mapMonkeys are being flown out to California on Sunday, July 10th, to test Modern Warfare 3, including mapMonkey, IM Buddy8, skateboard, and myself! We’ve been flown out to test other games in the past (Such as Call of Dut:World at War and Modern Warfare 2), but we only had 2 or 3 days to test the game and find glitches, which wasn’t nearly enougn time. This time, Infinity Ward is keeping us there an entire week so we can find more bugs and glitches than ever before!  I know this goes against mapMonkeys since we thrive off of finding and sharing glitches with each other, but this is an amazing opportunity we can’t pass up! I hope you’re as excited as I am about this and I can’t wait to share my opinion about the game with you (without giving away anything that hasn’t been revealed yet of course)

So do you think this is a good idea by Infinity Ward or are they just opening themselves up to more modding?
