Leaked pictures from Dragon Age Keep

One of my favourite things about sprawling RPG’s that span multiple games is that your save carries through, bringing with it the choices you’ve made and their consequences. I don’t think any would have quite liked Mass Effect nearly as much if that wasn’t the case. The same will hold true for the impressive Dragon Age: Inquisitions – but there’s a problem. Many will be playing this game on new systems. That’s where Dragon Age Keep comes in to play.

While there’s no fancy system to import save games from PC, Xbox 360 or PS3 to the Xbox One or PS4 that doesn’t mean those of you who’ve transitioned to a different console – or even from an old console to PC – won’t have your choices carry through.

The Keep is a system that allows you to remake those choices through a web-based front end, and then import that created save in to Dragon Age: Inquisitions when that game is out later this year. It means you’ll be able to fight with a bunch of menus and images instead of Dragons and Qunari if you want to continue your legacy in the next chapter of Dragon Age.

The whole thing functions as a questionnaire, asking you to select things that will have an outcome on the events of Inquisition. It does contain quite a  number of spoilers for the first Dragon Age games, so unless you’ve played through those games, you may want to give these leaked pictures  – and the tool itself – a miss.

Reminder: HUGE SPOILERS

That is a very nice idea, I approve.

I hope I approve of the actual game too. Hype, hype, hype.

APPROVED. Love it when you can recreate. I mean, I played ME 1&2 on a different profile and was able to recreate a character for 3 on another.

I half disagree. The Genesis DLC is for Lazy people. If I want to play a new Shepard in ME2/3 I always start at 1. 😛

The only time ill excuse the use of the DLC is if you lost your saves and even then “WTF why did you not back up to the cloud or at the very least a external drive??!!”.

Agreed. Unless you are playing Dark Souls 1, and you aren’t allowed to make a copy… OvG got to level 80 and the file corrupted, bye bye game! RAGE QUIT 9000+!

Lazy? Lol, we are talking about playing videogames, right? Some people don’t want to replay the same content over and over.

Been waiting for more news on this, its been in the pipeline for a while.

Looks similar to the interactive comic for Mass Effect 2 on PS3.
    that was awesome.

Decisions carry over? Jaaaaaaa…….. sorry, I’ve played ME & DA – they are the incredibly poor cousins of The Witcher when it comes to that.

honestly, i thought all 3 ME games did a pretty good job of it, in terms of relationships with characters.
barely affects the story and doesnt make any difference at the end of the trilogy, but the relationships were just as important as the story in mass effect

They were fine, guess I’m still annoyed by how little previous decisions affected the story after the way they hyped it.

You are kidding right? Almost no decision was carried from The Witcher 1 to The Witcher 2, most were just a mention and some were actually annuled, let me guess you are one of those people that played only the second entry yet calls himself a fan of the series, I like the Witcher, both 1 and 2, they are great examples of how make choices matter IN-GAME, in import matter they are… well, the same as Dragon Age really, if anything the fact that Bioware is making the Keep so people who changed console or went PC can make and import their world state into Inquisition put them ahead CD Projekt Red, where the Xbone and PS4 players will have to use the preset background everytime.

I’m looking forward to both entries, but you cannot say that TW is better than DA at the one thing they are not.

Erm, EA is the publisher, Bioware is the developer, so Bioware would have to finish it, not EA.Also knowing the history of EA forcing its developers to finish games and release them with bugs, they can take as long as it needs really…

Great gameplay, hope for the old skill trees and equip ability for NPCs, the DA2’s sucked.
Not many changes in story caused by player choice, I agree with other posters. Hoping this improves in Inquisition.
